Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want to See Made Into Movies

This meme is hosted by Broke and the Bookish. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where you choose your top ten picks based on a topic.

This week’s topic: books I want to see made into movies

I just went through my “read” shelf in Goodreads and picked out my favorite books/series that weren’t already made into movies. Realistically, most of these books can’t be made into good movies (kind of like the Percy Jackson movies). There are some books better left alone, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting them to be turned into movies.

Illuminae

Illuminae just seems like a good book to make into a movie. I don’t know why. It just does.

Throne of Glass series

I know that a while back, it was announced that the Throne of Glass series was being turned into a TV show. However, ever since that announcement, there have been no updates. That leads me to believe that either A) there isn’t going to be a TV show or B) they’re putting the TV show on hold. Either way, I want a movie made. Do I think it could be made well? Well… truthfully no. There are only so many things filmmakers can do, and I’m not sure if they would be able to capture the pure greatness and magical-ness of the series.

A Court of Thorns and Roses series

I actually just want to see Rhysand and Feyre together in real life. I SHIP THEM SO MUCH! That’s mainly the only reason I want this series to be made into movies.

Jackaby series

I love this series so much. It reminds me of Sherlock that OF COURSE I would love to see this made into a movie.

Carry On

I kind of just want another Harry Potter-like movie. Thankfully, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (the movie adaptation) is going to come out soon. Plus, there aren’t enough movies out where the main characters are LBGTQ.

All the Light We Cannot See

I think this would make a pretty successful movie. I don’t know. I really like reading about WWII, and having a movie where it shows both the German and French side of the war (instead of just the Jews vs. the Germans) would be interesting.

Mistborn trilogy

Although I think this series would be extremely difficult to be made into successful movies, I would still love to see Allomancy in action. All the action would give me a heart attack, but it would be worth it.

Steelheart

The only reason why I put Steelheart instead of the Reckoners trilogy is because I haven’t read the rest of the series. Either way, I would love to see this book made into a movie. It would be so nerdy and action-packed!

A Darker Shade of Magic

Same thing like Steelheart, I didn’t put the series name because I’ve only read the first book. I would love to see how filmmakers would interpret the concept of blood magic and parallel worlds.

Fangirl

I dunno. I just want to see this into a movie, but at the same time I don’t. Does that even make sense? I love the book so much that I want it made into a movie, yet I’m scared because if they screw up, it could ruin the perfect image it has in my mind.

Until next time….
