Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’d Buy Right Now if I had a Giftcard

This meme is hosted by Broke and the Bookish. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where you choose your top ten picks based on a topic.

This week’s topic: Top 10 books I’d uys right this second if someone handed me a fully loaded giftcard

That means I can’t choose any books that haven’t been released yet. I was going to put Harry Potter and the Cursed Child because I didn’t preorder it, but I tagged along with my family when they went to Costco yesterday morning and got myself a copy.

Just a fair warning: a lot of the reasons I want certain books is because of aesthetics. It’s super vain, but… yeah.

Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #3) by Ransom Riggs

I need to read this book, but I want to read the physical copy. On top of that, I want to own a physical copy. I own the rest of the trilogy, and I want to complete my set. Plus, the pictures are kind of creepy but fun to look at.

I’m not sure if I’m ready for the story to end yet, though.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I read this a while back, and absolutely loved it. However, I don’t own a copy, and I want to. I had many opportunities to buy a regular copy, but I want one of the special editions. Yes, I’m that picky. My copy of Eleanor & Park is a special edition, and I want them to match. Is it vain? Yes, a bit.

I mean, look at it! It’s gorgeous. Plus, it has fanart inside, which makes it even greater.

Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I know, I know. This isn’t one book. It’s a series. I read the first four books in ebook format, but I want to reread the whole series with the paperback. I don’t know. I want to have the experience of holding the physical book and turning the pages. Yeah. It’s weird. I get it. As cheesy as the covers are, I still want the physical copies on my shelf.

Graceling Realm trilogy by Kristin Cashore

I own the first book of the trilogy, but want to read (and own) the rest. Simple as that.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling, illustrated by Jim Kay

This book was a wish come true. I want to reread the whole Harry Potter series, but this time, in picture book form.

I’ve seen some of the illustrations and they’re GORGEOUS.

Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles, #4.5) by Marissa Meyer

I really, really, REALLY want to read the short stories of this series. I love all the characters. They’re all just… GAH! They’re so cute, and I need more.

Even though I somewhat liked the ending of Winter, I still want more. I can’t seem to let go of this world.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I already own a copy, but it’s destroyed because certain people didn’t take good care of it when I let them borrow it.

Also, the 10th year anniversary is amazing. The cover looks like the newspaper that they painted white in the story so that the certain someone could write a little story.

A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2) by V.E. Schwab

I just want to own all of V.E. Schwab’s books.

I listened to the first book, A Darker Shade of Magic, on Audible and fell in love with everything from the characters to the world. I need to read the next book, but I haven’t gotten to it yet.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas

The reason I want to buy another copy of TOG is pretty vain. I own the older version with the human model on the front cover, but because I want all the books in the series to match, I also want a copy of the newer cover (with the assassin with silver hair).

The Assassin’s Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5) by Sarah J. Maas

I have the paperback version of this book, and I want the hardcover because once again, I want all the books in the series to match on my shelf.

I feel so crappy how all my reasons I want certain books are so petty.

It’s hard to fit it into 10 sometimes. I have ADSOM and AGOS on my own list. Nothing else is similar, but I also want to the ToG series (>_<)
I've never read Fangirl, but I HAVE read Carry On (shame on me).
And I know I read Graceling, think I read Fire, and have not read Bitterblue.
Great choices! And cover art is important, too, so I get buying for aesthetic purposes 😉

My own choices are here: (I don't know how to make the link stick to words in a comment…)

I really enjoyed the first book so I have high hopes for the rest of the series 😀

I really want to read Graceling but I just can’t buy one unless I get a good deal since I could technically go borrow it at the library. Also I don’t think it’s vain at all to want the new version of Throne of Glass because I have to say the new cover is so much better than the old one with the model! Great list! 🙂

Same here! It seems impossible, but Sarah J. Maas’ novels get better as they go.
