Olympics Book Tag

The 2016 Olympics are happening right now, so I decided to celebrate by doing the Olympics book tag. Thanks so much to Richard @ The Humpo Show for tagging me! Don’t forget to check out his blog!

100m | A book you have raced through

I almost pulled an all-nighter reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I stayed  up so late reading. I refused to stop until my eyelids were so heavy that they wouldn’t open anymore. It was then when I put down the book to get a couple hours of sleep before finishing the rest of the book. That’s how much I loved it.

I have so many OTPs that my heart hurts sometimes when I think about them. I’m going to go with my not-so-recent obsession and say Rhysand and Feyre from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I’ve been obsessed with them ever since I finished ACOMAF, and I can’t wait for more. They’re so perfect for each other and I really hope that they end up with each other at the end of the series.

Michael Phelps | The Best Book You’ve Ever Read

There are so many to choose from. I can’t say that I have one specific book that holds the title of being the best book ever, but one of my favorite books recently is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I love books with intricate plans that reveal itself at the end when all the little hints start to tie together.

Simone Biles | A short and sweet book

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell isn’t a short book, but it isn’t a long one either. It’s all about relationships (family, friendship, relationships, etc.) and it gives me all the feels.

Rugby 7s | A tough book you struggled to finish

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson took my almost six months to finish. It wasn’t a bad book (I actually loved it) but it’s such a long book that I struggled to finish it.

Golf | A new genre outside of your comfort zone

I tend to avoid classics because I’ve never had a good experience with them. However, I was forced to read To Kill a Mockingbird for school this summer. Although it was out of my comfort zone, I really enjoyed it. I might go as far as saying it’s one of my favorites now.

Heptathlon | The Best Series

I’m going to go with the obvious answer and say the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I grew up with this series and so it has a special place in my heart. Plus, it’s an amazing series.

To Kill A Mockingbird is a brilliant classic, one of my favourites too!

6 months to finish one book!! I want to read the Song of Ice and Fire, I think it would take me a similar period of time to finish those books haha 🙂

    Great answers!!

Yeah it took me about six months to finish The Well of Ascension… 😁 Hopefully I won’t take as long reading The Hero of Ages (the last book in the series).

I was looking for inspiration for my Sunday tag, so I might do this one 🙂
I read the first three books in the Throne of Glass series, and I just got the audiobook of the first installment because I was ordered not to pressure my eyes too much and I need to reread it for a snark-off post. I like the series because I can’t stop mocking Lady Celaena 🙂 and I grew used to the characters.
I haven’t read Six of Crows yet but I hear it’s awesome.
I’m not a huge fan of classics because school and uni have a tendency to punish us by choosing the most boring as summer or mandatory reads, haha. I am so afraid of what’s waiting for me when uni resumes in September! I haven’t read To Kill A Mockingbird, I find it intimidating!

You should read both Six of Crows and To Kill a Mockingbird. I think you’ll enjoy both of them!
I have to agree that schools always forces their students to read the most boring classics, but I found that I actually enjoyed this year’s mandatory read 🙂

Love your answers! I’ve been reading more classics recently, and I’ve found that I either fall in love with them or dislike them very, very much – there’s really no in between. TKAM is definitely one of my all-time favorites though. I might do this tag when the Olympics end, which is coming up way too soon! Thanks for sharing this with us! xx
