Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes and created by Lainey @ Ginger Reads Lainey. You can check out the group’s Goodreads page to join and check out the topics of the month.

This Week’s Topic: Books that took me a long time to read

At the time I was reading these books, my average reading speed was about one book a week. Based on that, these books took me forever to finish.

Duration of read: little over two months

At the time I was reading this, I would normally finish a big book like this one in about two weeks. However, The Final Empire took me over two months to read. Why? Because I started reading it to try and get myself out of the reading slump I was in. Did it work? No, not really. In fact, it got me into an even bigger reading slump. It’s not that I hated the story (I actually consider this series one of my all-time favorites), it’s just that it was really long.

Duration of read: three months

I was in a reading about five books at once, and one of them was Opal. And by reading them all at once I mean I start one book, stop it, and start another. This was one of the books I started and stopped before picking it up again a month or so later to finish.

Duration of read: little under five month

The Well of Ascension is even longer than The Final Empire. I thought it would be a great idea to read it during testing season. Most of my time was dedicated to studying and sleeping, so I didn’t have much time to read it, hence why I took so long to finish it.

Onyx (Lux, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Duration of read: one year

I don’t know why, but I just took a long time reading this book.

Duration of read: one year

I started reading this book, got about halfway through it, and then completely forgot about it. After going through my ebook collection, I found it and finished it months later.

I just realized that all the books listed on this post are either from the Mistborn trilogy or the Lux series.

Until next time….

Yes! I love both of the series. I just took a long time reading them, for some odd reason.
