Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes and created by Lainey @ Ginger Reads Lainey. You can check out the group’s Goodreads page to join and check out the topics of the month.

This Week’s Topic: Books I want to finally get to in 2017

These are books that you’ve been putting off for a while now. These aren’t books that are going to be released next year. In a way, this is a book bucket list of 2017.

A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2) by V.E. Schwab

I’ve had this book since this January and attempted to read it three times. It’s not a bad book. It was just that I was in a reading slump every single time I tried to read it. I’m determined to actually read the whole time sometime soon. I hate having books unread.

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes

I’ve been too scared to read this one. I don’t really like sad books because I’m such a crybaby and anything remotely sad will make me cry. I don’t like crying. I’d prefer to be happy than sad. That’s why I’ve been hesitant to read this. Maybe I’ll read it in February to get in the mood.

The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3) by Brandon Sanderson

All of the past Mistborn books have taken me 3+ months to read. For Pete’s sake, The Well of Ascension took me six months to finish. I was reading them during the busiest time of the school year. I then soon forgot that I was reading them at all, hence the fact that I took a couple months reading them. I don’t want to repeat my mistake again for the third time in a row, so I’ve been waiting for the opportune moment to read The Hero of Ages. I just haven’t found it yet. Hopefully 2017 will give me that opportunity.

The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1) by Rick Riordan

Yeah… I just haven’t read this yet and I really need to. No excuses here.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, #1) by Jenny Han

I’ve had this book for over two years now and I still haven’t even touched it. That’s a problem. Like you already know, I hate having books unread, and this one has been unread for a long time now. That needs to be fixed soon. I have nothing against contemporary novels, I just happen to like and read fantasy novels more.

Until next time….

I really enjoyed Me Before You. It’s definitely a sad read, but it’s worth it!

I found Me Before You boring, unpopular opinion here, I want to read To All the Boys I’ve loved and The Trails of Apollo also, To All the Boys has been on my shelf for more than two years omg.

The first one is definitely sad, but it's all worth it – I completely fell in love with it!!
