Ringing in the New Year Tag

image

I was tagged by the lovely Heather over at The Sassy Book Geek. Thanks so much for tagging me! Don’t forget to check out her amazing bookish blog!

I know it’s now the middle of January, but I’m still going to do this tag. I’m still in denial that I’ve already wasted two and a half weeks of 2017 doing absolutely nothing.

Best book/series that you’ve read in 2016

I read a lot of great books in 2016. Here’s a few:

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5) by Sarah J. Maas
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1) by Cassandra Clare
Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson
Amulet series by Kazu Kibuishi
Graceling by Kristin Cashore

just to name a few. 🙂

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more of in the new year

Jay Kristoff

I’ve heard so many great things about Jay Kristoff’s books, and after reading Illuminae, I’m interested in trying out his other works.

Kristin Cashore

I plan to read the rest of the Graceling trilogy. When I’ll get to it, I’m not sure. Hopefully, I’ll find time soon.

Most anticipated book turned movie/TV show

Queen of Shadows TV show

I know this is the easy answer. Obviously I’m a huge fan of the Throne of Glass series, so of course I would be excited for the TV show. However, I’m also a bit skeptical. I just hope this TV show doesn’t ruin the books for me.

Name a character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight

*ahem* Let me just get out my list of character crushes and book boyfriends. *rolls out mile-long list*

Ezra Mason from Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Julian Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices series by Cassandra Clare

Rudy Steiner from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (*tears up*)

Once again, just to name a few.

What’s on your TBR for 2017?

ALL THE BOOKS! Most of them are books that I own but haven’t read yet. The pile just gets bigger and bigger.

How many book do you plan to read in 2017?

As many books as I can. I don’t really put a number goal. I just want to read as much as I want. Whatever that amount is, I have no idea.

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge or any other?

I participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge every year since I’ve joined Goodreads. This year, my goal is 24 books. I want to read at least two books a month this year.

Any New Year’s resolution (bookish, blogging, otherwise)?

The one goal I make myself every year is to a be better person than I was the year before. This applies to everything. Be better at social interactions in the real world (book gods know I suck at that). Be better at blogging. Improve my sleep schedule. Heck, improve my general schedule and stop procrastinating. You get the gist.

I tag…

Everyone and anyone who wants to do this tag! It’s a bit late now, so I didn’t want to tag people who doesn’t want to do this.
