R.I.P. it or Ship it Book Tag

This tag was created by Emma over at EmmmaBooks on YouTube. I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but I watched JesseTheReader’s take on the tag (as he talked about it during the BookTuber panel I went to recently) and wanted to give it a shot.

All you have to do is put a whole bunch of character names in a cup, pick two, and determine whether they are compatible (ship it) or not (rip it) as a couple.

This is going to be interesting…

Round 1: Jesper Fahey + Azriel

Jesper is the sharpshooter in the Dregs team in the Six of Crows duology. He’s the comedic relief in the series and loves to gamble. Azriel is basically the spy of the Inner Circle in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and makes his first appearance in the second book of the series. He’s quiet, reserved, and hides in the shadows.

I think these characters wouldn’t be compatible because Jesper would probably talk Azriel’s ears off, and Azriel would drive Jesper crazy with his silence. I just don’t see these characters working out. Plus, I can see Kaz taking advantage of Azriel’s ability to gain information. Sorry, but I’m going to have to RIP IT.

Round 2: Lucien + Feyre Archeron

Both Lucien and Feyre are characters from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Feyre is the leading female protagonist who, in the beginning, gets swept up by the fae for killing one of their kind. Lucien is the best friend and first-in-command for the Spring Court’s king, Tamlin, whom Feyre falls in love with.

So no. I do not ship them. If you read the second book you’ll understand why. This pairing is RIPPED!

Round 3: Captain Carswell Thorne + Draco Malfoy

Captain Carswell Thorne made his first appearance in the third book of the Lunar Chronicles. He’s witty and loves to crack jokes. Draco Malfoy is… yeah. He’s Draco Malfoy. You know, that kid who’s Harry Potter’s lesser nemesis.

For some reason, I see these two characters causing a lot of trouble together. Malfoy and Thorne both are good characters at heart. I think they would balance each other nicely. SHIP IT!

Round 4: Ezra Mason + Prince Kai

Ezra Mason is the male protagonist from Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. He’s quite the comedian, and knows how to make light out of any situation. What he lacks in the knowledge department he makes up with compassion and emotion. Prince Kai is the prince of China in the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. He’s a leader (obviously) and puts the people he cares about before himself.

I think they’d make a good pair. Ezra would cheer up Kai and make his job less stressful while Kai would keep Ezra in check. I SHIP IT!

Round 5: Kaz Brekker + Day West

Kaz is the mastermind and leader of the Dregs in the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. If I had to compare him to someone, he would be most like Sherlock from the BBC TV show. He’s freaking crazy. Day West is the male protagonist from the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu, and he’s also a mastermind.

This would be an interesting pairing. Both of them are masterminds at duping the rich. They would be a power couple that would bring down the elite, and I would like to see that happen… (any fan fiction writers out there willing to take on this project? 😂) SHIP IT!

Round 6: Amren + Morrigan

Amren is a very powerful being and is Rhysand’s second-in-command in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Morrigan is Rhysand’s third-in-command in the Inner Circle. They both make their first appearance in the second book in the series.

I think these two would make a power couple. Honestly, they are both kick-ass females and aren’t afraid to show it. Sure, they would get on each other’s nerves every once in a while, but since they’ve been friends for a while now, they would be able to get along at the end of the day. They would definitely be a force you wouldn’t want to get on the bad side of. SHIP!

Until next time….
