It’s Christmas where I live, but for others it might already be the day after. Merry Christmas to all who celebrates it! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Hanukkah! Happy holidays!
This year was a roller coaster ride to say the least, and I think we all are in need of some positive spirit.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful time spending quality time with their family and loved ones. My older sister, who I haven’t seen in a while, finally came home and I’ve been able to spend some time and catch up with her. Thankfully with technology, I’ve been able to communicate with her, but it doesn’t feel the same as talking and spending time with her in person.
This year has been… interesting, to put it nicely. It’s been a health roller coaster, that’s for sure. I got more sick than I usually do this year. In fact, I just got sick again yesterday. I’m just glad it isn’t another strain of walking pneumonia, which I caught a couple months ago. I’m hoping my health will be a bit better in 2018, but we’ll see.
Blogging wise, I think I did pretty decent. Like always, I didn’t post as much as I wanted to but I’m proud of what I have posted. As they say, it’s not about quantity, it’s more about quality (or something along those lines). I’m disappointed in myself in the reading department because I definitely did not read as many books I wanted to. I reached my reading goal on Goodreads, but I set it super low because I knew I wasn’t going to have a lot of time to dedicate to books. However, there was a list of books I wanted to read before the end of 2017, but it seems like that’s not going to happen. With all the reading slumps, late night working on school things, and sicknesses, there are still a lot of books left on the list.
(It is at this point that I’m reading over what I wrote so far and I’m unsure if I made any sense. My brain is a bit foggy and tired, but I really wanted to make a Christmas post so if something doesn’t make sense to you, I apologize.)
I’m thinking about making an Instagram account for my blog displaying all the bookish things I do, but I’m still unsure if I should. When I first started this blog, I created a Twitter and that went down the drain because I didn’t really like the platform. Also, I’m not much of a photographer, so I’m not sure if I want to post #bookstagram kind of posts or if I will post just random bookish things I’m doing.
Turns out, I’m very unsure about a lot of things XD
If you have a bookish Instagram, please comment down your username because I want to find some accounts to follow if I do create an Instagram account. π
I know this is a bit early, but the 2018 North Texas Teen Book Festival announced which authors will be attending, and you bet my shiny dollar that I’m going to be there. If anyone else is planning on going, please let me know! It will feel nice to know I’m not the only one going….
Other than that, my only 2018 goal is to read more books than I read this year (and also finish that list of books I really need to read).
Merry Christmas! | Happy Kwanzaa! | Happy Hanukkah! | Happy Holidays!
How was your 2017?
What are some of your plans in 2018?
Do you think I should make an Instagram account?
Happy holidays!Β
Until next time….
Merry Christmas! Sorry to hear about your reading status but, hey, panicking about books is the daily job of every reader- especially reviewers (I don’t even know but it’s something I like to complain about. I need help).
You should TOTALLY start an Instagram! I mean, it’s okay if you aren’t into photography or anything, can’t hurt to expose your bookish side on another platform, right? I started one just a few months ago too so you can check it out if you want to (@abookishstory).
Oh, also, all the very best with the writing festival. Kick ass.

Merry Christmas to you too! Yeah… I feel like every review panics about the amount of books they read, thinking their not reading enough, which is totally not true!
If I do decide to make an Instagram, Iβll make sure to follow you π

Merry Christmas!
I totally get you about the reads and I’m quite behind my challenge π¦ But I will just try to enjoy my last reads and that’s all.
Instagram can be amazin if you like to take pics. It helps a lot to clear my minds. I’m @readerattic on there π It’s a nice community full of cute and fluffy people XD

Merry Christmas! π
Iβve been trying to cram in some more books before the year ends but weβll see how that works out π
Iβll make sure to follow your Instagram account if I make one! Iβm thinking about starting one at the beginning of next year… which now that I think about it itβs not that far away.

I still have around 30 minutes left of Christmas π I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and it’s great that you managed to spend some time with your sister!
Don’t beat yourself up about the books you didn’t read. Like you said, you were busy, and both school and health are more important matters. There’s always next year! π
And even if you end up deleting the Instagram account, you could always give it a try. I was super motivated in the beginning but didn’t think I was as good as anyone else. Nowadays, I still think some of my pictures are really bad, but that’s because I’m lazy. I’d like to dedicate more time to my bookstagram next year, and I’d love to follow you! If you want to check it out, it’s @thebookmermaid_ π

Iβm probably a bit late but Merry Christmas! Iβm glad to spend some time with my sister. Itβs great to see her in person again π
I agree with you. Trying new things is very important… from what people have been telling me, I think Iβll make an account. Thanks for the advice and kind words β€οΈ
