You’re Not Good Enough Book Tag

Well, this tag sounds cheery! When I first saw the title, I was super confused as to what it was about, so here’s a little description to clear things up:

You pick 30 fictional characters and write their names down on pieces of paper. You then pluck two names at a time out to answer a question – so there are 15 questions. The aim of the game is to pick the character that fits the criteria the best and by doing so find the character that is not “good enough” for the answer.

1. You only have one more spot on your spelling B team. Who would you pick to complete your team?

Wolf Kesley (The Lunar Chronicles) vs Inej Ghafa (Six of Crows)

I would choose Inej because I’m not 100% sure Wolf can read… Can he? I’m not entirely sure…

2. Both characters want to kill you. Which one would you kill first so you have a better chance of surviving?

Azriel (A Court of Thorns and Roses) vs Clary Fray (The Mortal Instruments)

Azriel’s fighting skills kind of scares me. I would kill him off first because I’d definitely have a better chance of living if I fought against Clary.

3. You’re on The Bachelor/Bachelorette and you’re down to these two characters. Which one are you going to give your rose to?

Rowan Whitethorn (Throne of Glass) vs Prince Kaito (The Lunar Chronicles)

Hands down I would choose Rowan. I love Prince Kai, but I don’t want the responsibilities of a princess, or in the future, a queen. I don’t think I’m fit enough to rule a whole kingdom. Plus, Rowan is the epitome of a dream boyfriend.

4. You’ve been chosen for the Hunger Games. Who would most likely volunteer in your place?

Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) vs Scarlet Benoit (The Lunar Chronicles)

Coincidentally, I chose Katniss Everdeen from my cup of characters, so I guess she’ll be the most likely to volunteer as tribute in my place because she did the same thing for her younger sister.

5. You’re stranded on an island. Which character would you sacrifice to engage in cannibalism?

Linh Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) vs Magnus Bane (The Mortal Instruments)

Um… I won’t willingly kill either of these characters but I’d rather eat Cinder because I think Magnus Bane has the power of opening portals/teleportation so I’d keep him alive to get me off the island.

6. You’re the next DC/Marvel superhero (with your own TV show, of course). Who is your sidekick?

Captain Thorne (The Lunar Chronicles) vs Jace Wayland (The Mortal Instruments)

Oh Captain, my Captain. I would love to have Thorne as my sidekick. He’d be the one to provide the much-needed comedic relief and the skills to transport the team from place to place. Also, I’m not the biggest fan of Jace, and he’s too independent to be a sidekick.

7. You’re a manager of an avocado admiring company. Who would you fire for lack of communication skills?

Voldemort (Harry Potter) vs Ron Weasley (Harry Potter)

I don’t think neither Voldemort nor Ron have any lack of communication skills but I’d fire Voldemort because… well, he’s Voldemort.

8. You’ve just finished a book in which your favorite character dies. Which character is mostly likely to comfort you?

Cassian (A Court of Thorns and Roses) vs Amren (A Court of Thorns and Roses)

I can’t decide which character would most likely comfort me because both would comfort me in different ways. Cassian would probably be the dude that would try and cheer you up with jokes and an outing in town while Amren would sit and listen to you rant and possibly rant with you.

9. Ugh, it’s high school. Who would most likely be part of the popular clique?

Manon Blackbeak (Throne of Glass) vs Aelin Ashryver (Throne of Glass)

Aelin, for sure. Aelin would be the leader of the popular squad while Manon would be part of the edgy, angsty, teenager group who listens to classic rock and heavy metal.

10. The day has arrived: You’re finally a year older! Who would have the nerve to forget your birthday?

Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson) vs President Snow (The Hunger Games)

Definitely President Snow. He’s a busy man. Also, I wouldn’t mind him forgetting my birthday. The less interaction I have with him, the better.

11. You’ve just found an upcoming BookTube star. Who would it most likely be?

Harry Potter (Harry Potter) vs Dolores Umbridge (Harry Potter)

Harry Potter, I guess? He doesn’t seem like the reading type, though. I just don’t think Dolores would be a great YouTube sensation because of her evil personality.

12. Sleepover time! Unfortunately, you can only invite one person. Who would you invite?

Dumbledore (Harry Potter) vs Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

The point of having a sleep over isn’t really to sleep. It’s to hang out with your friends for the whole night. Dumbledore is an old man, and would probably fall asleep way too early (and I don’t fault him for that). Hermione, however, is more my age, so I’m going to choose her.

13. Bam, you’re pregnant. Who’s the father/mother?

Kaz Brekker (Six of Crows) vs Levana Blackburn (The Lunar Chronicles)

I don’t really like Levana, but Kaz doesn’t like touching people so realistically I’d have to go with Levana.

14. You’ve just written a super important text. You would “see” it but not reply?

Hazel Lancaster (The Fault in Our Stars) vs Rhysand (A Court of Thorns and Roses)

Hazel would definitely reply to an important text. She’s the kind of girl you can have a good phone call conversation, text conversation, and face-to-face conversation. In general, she’s easy to talk to. However, Rhysand is too busy saving the world and all, so he’d probably not have the time to answer. The fact that he read the text will have to do.

15. You’ve just woken up and it’s time for breakfast. Your mom had been replaced by… who!?!

Feyre Archeron (A Court of Thorns and Roses) vs Cress Darnel (The Lunar Chronicles)

Feyre would be a good mother in the future. I think she’d be the type of mother who supports her child but doesn’t smother them because she understands the importance of freedom. I think Cress will also become a good mother in the future, but I didn’t choose her because I still see her as a young teenager and thinking of her as my own mother made me slightly uncomfortable.
