Zodiac Signs Book Tag

Hi peeps! Long time no see! It’s been around two (?) weeks since I last posted something but now I’m back! I no longer have exams (until May) so I’ll have a bit more time to blog!

And because I just got out of taking a whole bunch of exams I decided to start with something easy, which is a book tag.

I was tagged by the lovely Nimika @ Word Haven. Make sure to check out her blog filled with bookish posts and writing! Sorry I took so long to get to this….

The Rules:

zodiac.png1. Make a post of your own in which you share a book you believe matches with each zodiac sign, explaining why.
2. Copy the rules in your post.
3. Tag 5 to 10 bloggers to do the same at their turn. (Or more, who am I to stop you!)
4. Link the creator of the post, audreywritesabroad, in your post so she can see your answers! 🙂
5. You can use the header image I made if you want to. If you don’t like it and want to make one of your own, go ahead!
6. Have fun!

CAPRICORN – hardworking, stubborn, straightforward

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

The main character, Celaena Sardothian, is a very hardworking but stubborn character. She seems to give it to you like she sees it, but there’s something she’s hiding, that will unveil itself as the series continues. However, she does not put up with anyone’s crap and will be the first one to tell you so.

TAURUS – good taste, sensual, stubborn, down to Earth

Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I’m going to go down the line of characteristics:

Good taste: Katy (main female protagonist) has a good taste in books and in boyfriends
Sensual: there are some heavy making out sessions in this series
Stubborn: my goodness Katy is stubborn that sometimes I wonder how she hasn’t gotten herself killed
Down to Earth: The aliens in this story are very down to Earth and human like. Plus, they’re aliens that came down to Earth. Literally.

VIRGO – successful, creative, clever

Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I’m going to have to agree with Nimika on this one. The Illuminae Files is one of the most creative YA books I’ve come across so far with its unique format and writing style. It’s actually rather clever, because I went to a meet up with the authors of this series, they talked about how the files (like the text messages and surveillance camera footage review) were times the characters were not expecting an audience, so they are more themselves rather than if they were to narrate the story.  It’s personal, and you get to know the character more that way. (I don’t think I explained it right….)

AQUARIUS – innovative, admired, eccentric, distant

Jackaby series by William Ritter

R.F. Jackaby reminds me so much of Sherlock. He’s a crazy detective that can see fantastical creatures, and his ordinary sidekick really admires his work. He’s a bit of a recluse though, because no one sees what he can see.

GEMINI – dynamic, many talents, likes games

Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I don’t think I need to explain this one. The trio combined brings many skills to the table that allows them to navigate the world and eventual battle.

LIBRA – irresistible, adventurous, indecisive

Wires and Nerve, Vol. 1 by Marissa Meyer

If you know anything about Iko, you know she’s hard not to like and super adventurous. I’m not sure how it plays out in the second book because I haven’t read it yet, but in the first book she’s super confused and hesitant about these newfound feelings she has for another character.

PISCES – free, sensual, sensitive

A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas

Those of you guys who have read the series know what scene I’m talking about when I reference paint and the cabin. That scene was when I really realized that this series was not your typical young adult series. I consider it borderline new adult. The first book has the concept of freedom (more of the lack of it) and we all know how there are some heartwarming moments between certain characters throughout the series.

CANCER – sensitive, friend-oriented, forgives but doesn’t forget

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I just recently finished this book and oh my goodness it was amazing. Simon and his friends have the ultimate friendship. Despite some tension, it’s clear that they care for one another. Also, that one incident (you guys know which incident I’m talking about) Simon might’ve forgiven this character, but probably not forgetting what happened any time soon.

SCORPIO – self-reliant, powerful, secretive, wise

Six of Crows series by Leigh Bardugo

The Dregs are very much secretive and powerful. Most of the characters could survive in a zombie apocalypse on their own if that were to ever happen. Despite being teenagers, the Dregs are wise beyond there years because of what they have gone through throughout the series and in their childhood.

ARIES – brave, independent, impulsive, hates to be restricted

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

When I saw Aries’ description, the first character that came to mind is Vin from Mistborn. I haven’t read the last book in the trilogy yet but from what I’ve read she’s a rather brave character. In the beginning, she was a bit impulsive but you see throughout the story how she matures and starts to understand her power more.

LEO – creative, popular, faithful

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare

When I first started this series, the first thing that came to mind was how unique the Shadowhunter world was. I have never (and still haven’t) come across something quite like the world that Cassandra Clare built. The series now is very popular, and have a lot of faithful fans, including myself. I have not watched the TV series that was released, but I’m not sure I ever will because of the mixed reviews.

SAGITTARIUS – open-minded, loving, insensitive

Image result for obsession jennifer l armentrout

Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The female main character, Serena, is surprisingly okay with discovering aliens and their counterparts living on Earth. If you could not tell by the cover, there is romance in this series. While Hunter, an Arum, is pretty insensitive towards Serena in the beginning because she is human, he slowly comes to realize his feelings for her.

UHHHHH SUPER GREAT TAG!! That was so fun and I love how you connected each book to the sign… (I mean that is the point… but I agreed so much about each book and yet I may not have seen them that way without your POV?! Does that make sense?!) Anyway LOVE IT! ❤

Oh my god, sorry for checking this out so late! I’m so glad you did it and I loved your answers, mate. Oh, and I didn’t know you read some of Jennifer Armentrout’s books too! 😀

      It’s alright 😀
I haven’t found many book bloggers that read Jennifer L. Armentrout’s books! 😊 Which one is your favorite?

Her books are like the perfect guilty pleasure, fun reads. Hmm, I’m not sure. So far, I’ve read her Lux series and Dark Elements trilogy. I… Guess, I liked Lux better (Opal was my favorite of the books). Although, I love Roth from TDE too much. 😂 She also has a ton of standalone contemporaries that I’d like to read sometime but I’ve only read The Problem With Forever yet. What about you?

Exactly! Her books are so easy to eat up. I don’t really have a favorite… I like all her books too much (but her Lux series is probably my favorite series out of all the books she’s written)! I’ve only read White Hot Kiss in the TDE series… should I continue the series?

You should totally continue the series! To be fair, I wasn’t a huge fan of the second book because #lovetriangles but it’s ending and the third book were SO GOOD OMG.

Heyyy! I don’t know why I hadn’t seen this before! LOVE your answers! (Also, I’m Scorpio, and I freaking love that you chose Six of Crows for my sign because that series is THA BEST!)
