I was bored so I thought I could play a little fun game called Kiss, Marry, Kill with the characters from The Lunar Chronicles.
If you don’t know what the game is, it’s basically where I take a set of people (in my case, characters), put their names in a cup, and draw three names. Then I have to decide who to kiss, marry, and kill. It’s that simple.
Just a warning, if you have not read the full series and don’t want to be spoiled, I highly suggest you finish reading the series (because it’s amazing) before reading this post. I include characters that are introduced later in the series and I don’t want to spoil any surprises for anyone who hasn’t experienced the awesome world that is the Lunar Chronicles.
Round 1: Ze’ev “Wolf” Kesley, Linh Peony, Jacin Clay
Wolf was introduced in the second book, Scarlet, and was genetically modified to serve as a special operative on Queen Levana’s army.
Wolf overall seems like a nice dude if you look past his physical appearance. The way he treated Scarlet makes you want to hug him like a big cuddly bear.
Marry: Jacin Clay
Jacin was Winter’s bodyguard
I would marry Jacin because although he can be a bit stoic and rough around the edges he seems like a nice guy on the inside that was forced to toughen up due to the atmosphere he grew up in.
For a refresher, Peony was one of Cinder’s stepsisters.
Although she was not the worst person in the world, out of the three I would kill her off because, in the end, she would die anyway from the plague that was ransacking her country.
Round 2: Scarlet Benoit, Linh Cinder, Carswell Thorne
Scarlet lived in France with her grandmother on a farm.
She’s sweet, feisty, and supportive of all her friends. I dunno… I feel like if I ever had the chance to meet her that we wouldn’t be more than good friends.
Cinder is the main protagonist cyborg (among other things) of this whole entire series.
I’ve mentioned this before, but out of all the fictional characters, Cinder is one of the characters I would have a friend-crush on. However, if I had to choose someone to marry, it would be her. She’s reliable and deeply cares for those around her.
Kill: Carswell Thorne
He was introduced in the third book, Cress, and is a rogue spaceship cadet from the American Republic military.
Now, I love Captain Thorne, don’t get me wrong. I just love Cinder and Scarlet more. Sorry, man.
Round 3: Prince Kai, Levana Blackburn, Linh Adri
Kiss: Linh Adri
Linh Adri was Cinder’s cruel stepmother.
You might be thinking, why the heck would I want to kiss something so evil? Well, it was either between the stepmother or the manipulative queen and honestly, the stepmother seems like a child compared to the queen when it comes to cruelty.
Marry: Prince Kai
He’s the prince of the Eastern Commonwealth and also Cinder’s love interest.
Honestly, who wouldn’t want to marry a prince? Actually, to be honest, I wouldn’t want to marry into royalty because that’s a lot of responsibility and pressure that I’m not sure I can handle. Anyway, that’s beside the point. Out of the three, I have no hesitations marry Prince Kai. He’s sweet, patient, supportive, and understanding. All good qualities of a human being and a significant other.
Kill: Queen Levana
She is the tyrant queen of Luna.
I really don’t think I have to explain my reasoning behind this one. She’s evil. And that’s that.
Round 4: Cress Darnel, Winter Hayle, Iko
Iko is Cinder’s android.
I don’t know if it’s because of the spin off series of Wires and Nerve, but I’m really loving Iko and her sassiness right now. She’s honestly one of my favorite characters from the whole entire series, but I can’t imagine marrying her. She would sass the house down.
Winter is the princess of Luna and the stepdaughter of Queen Levana
Honestly, I love Winter too. She seems like someone I could read books with and just chat about anything and everything until the sun rises. Who wouldn’t want to marry someone who shares the same passions as you do?
Cress is a skilled hacker/programmer.
Please don’t hate me on this one. I love Cress with all my heart but I just love the other characters even more. That’s the only reason I’m “killing” her this round. I have no better reason.
Do you agree with my choices?
Who would you kiss, marry, and kill?
What set of characters should I do next?
Until next time….
