Hello, earthlings! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on the blogosphere. It’s currently midterm season, meaning that I’ve been having tests back to back for the past couple weeks. Thankfully, I’m done with most of my tests until finals so I’ll *hopefully* have more time to read (and sleep).
Anyway, I wanted to do a tag to give my tired brain a break, and lo and behold I saw that Anna @ My Bookish Dream did one that I’ve never done before! I wasn’t tagged, but it seems like a lot of fun so I’m giving it a try!
How many books do you usually read at once?
One or two, depending on how much time I have. I used to read three to four books at once, but now that I have less free time I lowered the number a bit.
If you’re reading more than one book at a time, how do you decide when to switch to reading the other book? (Do you read a certain amount of pages in each?)
Usually I switch stories when I get bored of one of them. If I get to a slow part that I can’t seem to get through, I’ll set down that book and pick up the other one until I get to the slow part in that one. Then I’ll go back to the first book and the story would seem interesting again since I took a break from it. It also depends on what I’m in the mood for at the time. Do I want fantasy? Do I want adventure? Romance? Action? Depending on what I’m feeling and what I’m reading, I’ll pick up the book that closely matches what I want to read.
Do you ever switch bookmarks while you’re part way through a book?
No. I usually use a random piece of paper lying around my desk so there’s no point in switching it.
Where do you keep the book you’re currently reading?
Usually on my desk next to my bed. That way I can pick it up at any time whenever I want to.
What time of day do you spend the most time reading?
In the evening/at night. I’m busy during the day doing assignments and going to class so the only time I have to read is at night in bed.
How long do you typically read for in one go?
Depends on the day. If I have class the next morning, maybe 15 minutes, if that. If it’s the weekend and I know I don’t have to wake up early, I’ll read for an hour or two or until I fall asleep.
Do you read hard covers with the dust jacket on or off?
Dust jacket off! I get nervous that I’ll damage the dust jacket if I keep it on.
Which position do you mainly use to read?
Depends… I normally read on my bed since it’s the most comfortable piece of furniture I have. If I’m reading a physical book, I’ll either be sitting up or on my stomach. If I’m reading a book on my e-reader, I’ll be laying on my side.
Do you take the book you’re currently reading with you everywhere you go?
No. I don’t have time to read during the day, and I don’t need the extra weight in my backpack. My bag is heavy enough as is.
How often do you update your progress in the book you’re currently reading on Goodreads?
At the moment? Not frequently at all. Sometimes I’ll just put when I started and finished reading a book. Other times, whenever I’m curious to see the exact percentage of how far I’ve gotten in a story, I’ll update it. I use Goodreads as a way to track what I read and when and see what other people are reading. I don’t really use it for more than that.
I tag anyone and everyone who wants to give this fun tag a go!
Here’s a clean template of the questions:

Until next time….
Such a fun tag!! I agree, I never really use Goodreads to track my progress through a book, but I definitely update when I’ve finished one.

Same! I pretty much only use Goodreads to see how many books I read each year. Thanks for dropping by! ❤
