I know I don’t normally post on Thursdays, but I had to break up the regular schedule to bring you some stunning bookish news!

This is no longer the (temporary) cover for ACOSF on Goodreads!
The cover of A Court of Silver Flames (a.k.a. the fourth book in the ACOTAR series a.k.a. the start of the ACOTAR sequel series a.k.a. the start of Nesta’s story) was revealed today on Goodreads, and it is surprisingly different than I expected!

To be honest, this cover kind of surprised me. I was expecting something like the original three covers with a faceless girl in a beautiful dress, but ACOSF is more reminiscent of the newer paperback covers that were released a couple months ago.

While I do like the new cover design, I was hoping for it to be more similar to the original. It might sound stupid, but I was hoping all my copies would match π
. Even the people who got the new paperbacks are not going to have their books match because ACOSF is coming out as a hardcover first.
Regardless, it’s still a beautiful cover, and I can’t wait to read it! We’re going to have to wait a little longer because the release date was pushed back three weeks to February 16th, 2021. It is going to be a t h i c c (yes, I spelled thick with two c’s) book, so I don’t mind the extra wait. It’s going to be 784 pages thicc, to be exact. The more I see this book online, the more I’m excited to read it! Eek! Can’t wait!
What do you think of the cover? Of ACOSF in general? Is it what you expected?
Let me know your thoughts!

Stay awkward and amazing! β€

While I absolutely cannot wait to read this book because Nesta and Cassian have been goals from the start I just can’t get on board with the covers. I understand that the author and publishers want to rebrand the series out of the YA sector but these covers scream more late-90s-bad-fantasy to me. Despite that I know this book will definitely be finding its way onto my Maas shelf.

Yeah… I thought the cover was going to be more like the original, so I has a *tad* bit disappointed that it wasn’t. It makes sense that the publishers are trying to get this series out of the YA genre (because some scenes are definitely not YA friendly). I hadn’t even thought of it that way before, but it definitely is reminiscent of 90s fantasy books! π Hopefully there will be other editions with better covers….

I’m glad you like the cover! There has been mixed reactions from what I’ve seen on the internet… While it wasn’t what I expected, I still think it’s pretty.
I’m so excited for this book too! Regardless of what the cover looks like, I’m super excited to start reading about Nesta and Cassian’s journey.
Just out of curiosity, does it bother you when some of the books you own in a series is paperback while others are hardcover?

Yes it does but I personally donβt want to wait for them all to match perfectly because Iβm too eager to own them all π Iβll have to deal with it haha!

Makes sense! Hopefully they’ll either come out with matching hardcovers for the first three books or a separate dust jacket for ACOSF to match the original covers…
