Festive Christmas Book Tag

Festive Christmas Book Tag

The lovely folks over at A Couple of Bees Read tagged me, and I couldn’t have been more excited! What better way to celebrate the holidays (even though I’m late lol) with a fun and festive book tag!

This tag was originally created by ReadingGirl on Youtube!

1. A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

I would love to spend the holidays with the Covey family from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. They seem like a festive bunch who gets rowdy from time to time. They all love each other, and that’s the sort of wholesome vibes I want for Christmas.

2. A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

I have no idea. I don’t buy a lot of bookish merch, but I guess you can’t go wrong with a cool art print or sticker.

3. A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

For some reason I immediately thought of Tink from A Wicked Trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout. He’s a small pixie, and he’s super eccentric. If that doesn’t scream Christmas elf, I don’t know what does.

4. Match a book to it’s perfect Christmas song.

It’s probably cheating to use a book with Christmas lyrics as the title… but I have no shame so I’m going to say the perfect Christmas song for Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle is (you guessed it) Let it Snow. There are a lot of people who have sung this song, but Frank Sinatra’s version has to be my favorite.

5. Bah Humbug!
A book or fictional character you’ve been
disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

Honestly, I can’t think of an answer for this one. I like most of the books I read, and I haven’t been super disappointed in any of them recently.

6. A book or fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

I know Spin the Dawn is a pretty popular book, but I still want to shout it out because it got me out of a big reading slump this year. If you haven’t picked up this book yet, I highly recommend it! You never get bored because there is constantly things happening in the story. Plus, who doesn’t like a good Mulan retelling with a hint of magic?

7. Red, Gold and Green
A book cover that has a wonderfully Christmas-y feel to it.

I have never read any of these books, but when I think of Christmas cover vibes, these are the ones that come to mind.

8. A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson is SO GOOD! I know it looks intimidating (I think the shortest book is a little under 600 pages), but it’s really worth it. The level of care the author put into the world, the characters, and the plot is insane. My two brain cells could not fathom how someone could come up with such an amazing story, but I’m glad they did. If you have not already read this series, I cannot recommend it enough.

I’m not going to tag anyone since Christmas has already passed, but if you’re still in the holiday spirit and would like to give this a go, consider yourself tagged!
