In this volume we’ll see the Heartstopper gang go on a school trip to Paris! Not only are Nick and Charlie navigating a new city, but also telling more people about their relationship AND learning more about the challenges each other are facing in private…

Meanwhile Tao and Elle will face their feelings for each other, Tara and Darcy share more about their relationship origin story, and the teachers supervising the trip seem… rather close…?

Thoughts

I feel like I’m a broken record here when it comes to talking about the Heartstopper series. It’s such a cute series that manages to talk about tough issues in an easy-to-read way, and this third volume is no exception. I love all the characters, the story is adorable, and the art style is so fun.

I love how there is some diversity in this book. Not only do you see characters of all different races and ethnicities, there are also people with different sexual orientations. In most LGBTQIA+ books (at least the ones I’ve read), usually the main character and their partner are the only people in the story who are part of the community. In Heartstopper, there are characters who are lesbian, gay, bi, and trans. While these are the more well-known sexual orientations within the LGBTQIA+ community, it’s much more than we see in a lot of YA books.

Overall, I loved reading about the Heartstopper gang’s trip to Paris, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for them!

TL;DR

✅ cute story
✅ touches on important issues
✅ LGBTQIA+ diversity
