the mid-year book freak out tag

It’s that time of year again! June is coming to an end (how is it already almost July?), and it’s time to freak out about how half the year is already over. Thank you to Amy @ A Fangirl’s Opinion for tagging me!

Reading this year has been a little slow compared to other years, but I’m hoping to pick up the pace soon, so I can reach my goal of finishing all the books I physically own. For now, let’s talk about the books I’ve finished in the first half of 2021!

January and February 2021 Wrap-Up (+ taking an unplanned break)

img_0036

The first two months of 2021 have been… intense (to put it nicely). There was an attack on the White House, America got a new president, the spring semester for Zoom University started, racial violence against Asian Americans have skyrocketed, and the state I’m currently residing in experienced a huge black out due to an arctic blast where we were left with no electricity, heat, WiFi, and clean running water.

On the flip side, I got a lot of reading done, and I wrote more posts than I expected. However, I might need to put on the brakes to blogging for a bit, but I’ll get into that later.

That means some of these books aren’t anticipated releases anymore. I still hope you’re able to find a book you’ve never heard of that you’re interested in.]

2021 Goals

New Year Resolutions

2020 was not it. I think we all get a free pass from our goals because last year was not anyone’s year. However, that is not going to stop me from making goals for this year. I like to make resolutions that I’ll promptly forget by the end of January, but it’s still fun to think of what I did well the year before and what I can improve.

Top 20 Books of 2020

My Top Books of 2020

Happy New Year (and thank goodness 2020 is over)! We have a tradition on this blog to showcase the top 10 books that I read every year. However, this year I wanted to do something different. Since it was 2020, I wanted to list my top 20 books instead of my top 10. It just has a better ring to it. However, I haven’t read that many novels this year, so I decided to split it into my top 10 books and my top 10 graphic novels. I read a lot of comics (although I don’t review them that much), so it’s only fair that I include them on the list.

In no particular order, I present to you my top books of 2020.
