A Court of Thorns and Roses series recap (books 1 – 3.1)

I don’t know about you, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve read the ACOTAR series. In honor of the newest book, A Court of Silver Flame, coming out next week, I thought I’d summarize what has happened in the last three books (and one short story) for anyone who needs a refresher before book 4. I’m going to yada yada a lot of the series, but that being said…

THERE ARE MAJOR SPOILERS FOR A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES, A COURT OF MIST AND FURY, A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN, AND A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT!

You have been warned.

ACOTAR Inner Circles’ Reactions to Books (told in gifs)

I always wondered what it would be like to have fictional characters come to life. That got me thinking, what would it be like if I became friends with them and took them to my favorite spot, which is of course any place with books. Then, I was wondering what they would do if they got a book in their hands.

I could describe what I’d think their actions would be, but I think .gifs do a better job.

I narrowed my pick of characters to those in ACOTAR because Feyre likes to read books, so at least one person will appreciate a sudden appearance of a book.

Kiss, Marry, Kill: ACOTAR edition

21807284-_sx540_

A while back I made a post doing the Kiss, Marry, Kill game with the Throne of Glass characters. I enjoyed playing the game (and I hope people enjoyed reading about the results) that I decided to do it again but with Sarah J. Maas’s other series, A Court of Thorns and Roses. Just a fair warning, I am including characters from all three books so if you haven’t finished the trilogy, I highly suggest not to read this post unless you’re okay with being spoiled.

For those who’ve read the series but don’t quite remember all the characters I talk about, I made a list of all the characters with very brief descriptions of who they are as a refresher.

Hocus Pocus Book Tag

I have a confession to make: I’ve never watched Hocus Pocus. Okay, so hear me out. Although I grew up in America, I did not grow up in the American culture. So, I’ve never watched timeless movies like Princess Bride and Hocus Pocus. (Okay, I have watched Princess Bride, but only recently). I grew up without a TV, and my family never went to the movie theatres because there weren’t any nearby, which is why I had to turn to books for entertainment.

I was tagged by the lovely Laura over at The Book Corps. Make sure to check out her blog and send her some love!

ACOTAR #3.5 Title Reveal!

I don’t really check my phone in the morning or even during the day since I’m at school and my phone doesn’t work inside the school. So when I got home and opened up my Instagram to see Sarah J. Maas’ new post, I was like:

I’m a little late to this but Sarah J. Maas released the title of the fourth ACOTAR book! I feel like a lot of us were really confused as to what would happen next after the third book, A Court of Wings and Ruin, as Sarah J. Maas said that the last three books would be set in the same world as the first three but follow a different set of characters.

If you want more information about that, I made a post here.

Anyway, without delay, here is the title of the next ACOTAR book!

(Forewarning: there might be teeny, tiny spoilers beyond this point so if you haven’t caught up on the series yet I would not continue.)

Top 10 Tuesday: Ten Reasons I Love the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas

Hey guys! I’m starting another meme on Tuesdays because I’m such a slow reader and I can only make so many teasers with the books I’m currently reading.

I’m going to be alternating between the Top Ten Tuesday meme and the Teaser Tuesday meme, if that makes any sense.

This meme is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is ten reasons why I love X. I chose to talk about the ACOTAR series because I recently finished the second book and I can’ stop thinking about it!

These reasons are in my particular order, but just warning you, I tried to sound reasonable while writing this post but there’s some extreme fangirling in this post. Some of the reasons overlap, but that’s okay. Right?

ATTENTION: There are no spoilers of neither ACOTAR nor ACOMAF in this post.

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas | Book Review

image

I didn’t look at him as I took the decanter of amber liquid and poured myself a knuckle’s length, then refilled his.
But I met his stare as I clinked my glass against his, the crystal ringing clear and bright over the crashing sea far below, and said, “To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys.”
He picked up his glass, his gaze so piercing that I wondered why I had bothered blushing at all for Tarquin.
Rhys clinked his glass against mine. “To the stars who listen-and the dreams that are answered.”

Teaser Tuesday (May 24)

teaser

This meme is hosted by MizB @ Books and a Beat. It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is follow these steps:

– Grab your current read
– Open to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!

“So I’m your huntress and thief?”
His hands slid down to cup the backs of my knees as he said with a roguish grin, “You are my salvation, Feyre.”

May These Anticipated May Releases Be Out Already!?!

Two of my most anticipated releases of 2016 are coming out this month! Why can’t I have them in my hands right now? Oh yeah. That’s right. I still have a really big TBR pile that I need to decrease. Right. Whoops. Whatever. I’m still excited for these books.
