2021 Goals

New Year Resolutions

2020 was not it. I think we all get a free pass from our goals because last year was not anyone’s year. However, that is not going to stop me from making goals for this year. I like to make resolutions that I’ll promptly forget by the end of January, but it’s still fun to think of what I did well the year before and what I can improve.

Happy 2019! (I’m back!)

Happy New Years everyone! I hope you guys had a fantastic 2018 and are having a great start to this new year!

I had been very on and off on this platform in 2018, especially where I disappeared in November and December. My goal this year is to post more consistently, but I don’t think I’ll have a set schedule yet. I’m hoping to get at least one post a week in, but I’m aiming for at least two.

For those who have joined me while I was M.I.A., welcome! Sorry I haven’t been here for a while.

As for the reason why I disappeared for the past two months….

A lot of bad things occurred all at the same time to me and my family at the beginning of November, and I just couldn’t handle more responsibility and stress than I already had on my plate at the time. So I had to drop blogging for a while to make sure I could sleep at a decent time and my mental health was stable enough. Frankly, I didn’t have the time to read, so it’s not like I could’ve reviewed many books anyway. On top of all the bad news that we’ve received, I had been working on my next step to my future aka college apps (insert massive, tired groan here). With all that was going on, I wanted to get my college apps out the way as soon as possible, so I dedicated the last couple months to applying to some universities. (Just for the record, no, I do not have a dream school. I would be very happy to be accepted into any of the colleges I’ve applied to.)

It’s the start of 2019, and with a new year comes new resolutions. I already mentioned my goal to post more consistently and another one of my goals for this blog is to have a more positive attitude in my posts. Looking back, I complained a lot. Whether it was about my state of health or everything that was going on, I felt as though I was rather negative. So, starting from this day forward, this blog will (hopefully) be negativity free.

Speaking of state of health, I’ve been getting sick less frequently, which is good. Not saying that I don’t get sick anymore (I was sick just last week), but it’s improving. A personal goal of mine this year is to improve my immune system, because everyone and their mother knows I need to. Wish me luck.

As always, I want to read more books. I read a whopping total of 31 books in 2018 (an all time low), so my goal this year is to read at least 32 books. Baby steps.

Another reading goal of mine is to read most of the books that I own but but haven’t read. Most of them have been sitting on my shelf for over a year now, and I honestly need to get to it because the number of unread books I have is getting ridiculous. One of the first books I plan to read is Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas because I recently finished Tower of Dawn (review coming soon) and I NEED to know what happens next.

Also, I recently had to get rid of a lot of the books I own, because my family will be moving soon and can’t afford to lug around the amount of books I’ve accumulated over the years. Now that I think about it, I can officially make my first un-haul post. Wow, now I’m excited!

Anywho, I hope this post finds you guys in good health and I can’t wait to start this year with a bang!
