10 Year Challenge!

10 year challenge book tag banner (The Awkward Book Blogger)

This tag was created by Rincey Reads over on YouTube! I saw Mary @ Mary and the Words do this, and I wanted to give it a try as well!

Like Mary, I’m not going to go back 10 years. I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast this morning, let alone what I read in 2011. Instead, I’m going as far back as when I started this blog, which was 2015. This was around the time I started using Goodreads to track the books I’ve read, so I thought it would be a good year to look back on to see what has changed and what has remained the same.

Rupaul’s Drag Race Book Tag

I’m not a huge reality TV watcher, but something about RuPaul’s Drag Race is so captivating and entertaining. I’ve been a fan since Season 8, and it’s one of the only things keeping me sane during this lockdown and pandemic.

There seems to be a few different RPDR book tags out there, but I decided to go with the one created by Cats and Camera.

guessing books based on their one star reviews

I saw this video of Merphy Napier guessing books based on their one star reviews recommended on my YouTube feed, and I thought it sounded like a fun idea. I made a list of a bunch of popular YA/adult books I’ve read, and I forced asked my sister to compile 10 one-star reviews. Thank you to my sister for gathering these for me (and blurring out any character names and the title of the book if it’s mentioned) and enabling me to do silly things on the internet XD

If you’d like to play along, make a list from 1-10 and see how many you can guess correctly (the answers will be revealed at the end)!

The Crying Book Tag

나의 작은, 뒷동산에 올라

Any sympathetic criers out there? If so, I’m right there with you. It doesn’t take much to get me to cry, and that includes reading about people crying. Lauren over at Narrative Paradise created a tag talking about all the books that made her shed a tear (internally or externally), and I thought I’d join the party.

The Rules:

✦ Answer all the prompts with a book that made you tearful (on the inside counts)
✦ Link back to the original post
✦ Tag as many people as you want
✦ Drink some water

the mid-year book freak out tag

It’s that time of year again! June is coming to an end (how is it already almost July?), and it’s time to freak out about how half the year is already over. Thank you to Amy @ A Fangirl’s Opinion for tagging me!

Reading this year has been a little slow compared to other years, but I’m hoping to pick up the pace soon, so I can reach my goal of finishing all the books I physically own. For now, let’s talk about the books I’ve finished in the first half of 2021!

Spring Cleaning Book Tag

Summer is right around the corner, which means there is only a little time left to spring clean. I’m planning on moving in a couple months, so I’ve been trying to get rid of everything that I don’t absolutely need. I’ve been procrastinating cleaning out my bookshelf, but sometime this summer I *might* be putting up some of the books I unhaul for sale before donating the rest. Maybe… I haven’t given it much thought yet.

While taking a break from spring cleaning, I came across this tag on Mary and the Words! I wasn’t tagged by her, but I thought I’d give it a go anyways. (Apparently this tag was created by Jen @ Book Syrup on YouTube, but I can’t seem to find the original video….)
