My Favorite Artist Small Businesses!

Favorite Small Art Businesses!

Okay, hear me out. I know that Thanksgiving hasn’t even passed, but with what’s been going on in the world, you might have noticed that shipping is much slower than it used to be. More people are ordering online, and the USPS is struggling to keep up with the demand alongside budget cuts and other things. On top of that, some borders are closed to receiving mail from certain countries, etc. etc. etc. Basically, it’s kind of all over the place.

I know it’s a lot to ask someone financially to support small businesses, especially right now, BUT if you are in a position to buy gifts from small businesses this holiday season, I ask that you do. Big companies will be making a TON of money during the holidays and Black Friday, especially now that people are more afraid to shop in-stores. Ordering from small businesses could be the only thing that’s keeping their businesses afloat.

So… yeah. I just wanted to share some of my favorite small art businesses that I’m obsessed with!

The Christmas Carol Book Tag

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! Today and tomorrow I will be spending my time with my family and friends that I don’t get to see very often anymore, so this post has been written before hand and scheduled. I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday right now filled with cheer and good memories.

Anywho, while I was brainstorming what to post for the holidays, Norees over at No Reads too Great saved the day by tagging me in another tag! I can’t seem to find who created this tag, so if anyone knows, please holler in the comments so I can tag them!

Enough with that. Let’s get to the fun stuff!

The Holiday Drinks Book Tag

Happy holidays, my people! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a post for this blog. University has been kicking my butt, but I’m finally finished with finals! I’m with my family, and I’ve had a couple days to recuperate from all the testing and information grinding. Now I’m back!

I’ve been brainstorming for the past couple days what kinds of posts I should write when Norees from No Reads So Great saved my brain from thinking too hard and tagged me in this fun holiday book tag! I haven’t really been in the holiday spirit with all the testing that’s been going on, but now that I’m done I’m ready to dive in!

The Rules:

  • Check out the original post at Browsing for Books
  • Link back to this post so I can see all your amazing answers
  • Have fun
  • Get a holiday drink to sip while writing!

I don’t have any holiday drinks laying around in the house (my family and I aren’t really huge holiday drink drinkers) and it’s too cold outside to go out and get some so I’m just going to stick with my water as I write this post.

Top 10 Worst Characters to Invite Over During the Holidays

I know I’m a tad bit late with this post, but I’m going to post it anyway.

The holiday season is all about spending time with your family and loved ones. Family time is awesome, but sometimes they can get on your nerves. It’s like the sequel to Thanksgiving dinner. There’s always that one person you invite over that makes the dinner/party really awkward at one point or another. If you’ve never felt that feeling of awkward silence, then you’re a really lucky fellow.

People have that mental list of who not to invite over. Whether it be their weird ex or that one person. You know, that ONE person you refuse to invite after inviting them one year. Yes, that person.

That got me thinking, what if I invited over fictional characters from books? Who would be the worst guests? I comprised a list of my top 10 worst guests.

This year was a roller coaster ride to say the least, and I think we all are in need of some positive spirit.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful time spending quality time with their family and loved ones. My older sister, who I haven’t seen in a while, finally came home and I’ve been able to spend some time and catch up with her. Thankfully with technology, I’ve been able to communicate with her, but it doesn’t feel the same as talking and spending time with her in person.

Bookish Christmas Gift Ideas

Where did November go? I swear it was just last week when November started, and now it’s already the last month of 2017.

Speaking of December, Christmas is coming up. Christmas means gift-giving, and gift-giving means the stress of finding what to get for the people you care about.

Last year, I made a list of bookworm gift ideas that you can check out here, and this post is a continuation of that. If you don’t like any of the ideas I present in this post, make sure to check out my other post to see if there are any other ideas you might like.

(I linked all the products I display in this post to their respective pictures.)

Day 496- Merry Christmas!

I’m posting this rather late but Merry Christmas everyone! I spent all day with my family eating, talking, playing, and watching Sherlock on Netflix (I finally convinced them to start watching it and they love it!).

As for the presents, I decided not to ask for any books this year because I have over 15 (!) that I own and haven’t read yet. I’m putting myself on a book buying ban until my TBR list gets considerably shorter.

It’s weird how fast this month has gone by. It seems like yesterday it was Thanksgiving and now the year is about to end.  I’m excited to see what 2017 has in store for us. I just hope it won’t be as eventful as this year. I think the world can take the break.

Bookworm Gift Ideas

Christmas is coming up, and if you’re anything like me, you like to procrastinate on everything including getting people gifts. Every week, I tell myself that I still have enough time to get everyone a gift, but all of a sudden it’s already Christmas and I hadn’t even started shopping. If you’re in this exact situation, I would strongly suggest you start shopping now because those gifts aren’t going to wait for you in stores or online.

Anywho, if you are having trouble finding your bookworm a gift, I thought of a couple things you could consider. Most of these things I would like as an avid reader myself, so I assumed that other bookworms would also want these things.

Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal!

Aaaaaaaaaaand it’s 12:00 am! Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their family and friends. I know I am going to.

I love to “prank” my people on Christmas Day. Especially when it comes to presents. There was a time where I took a giftcard, wrapped it 15x, and stuck it at the top of a box. Then I put that box in a bigger box, and wrapped that. The poor person had to peel layer after layer until the he got to the giftcard. All that work for a $10 giftcard.

Yup. I’m evil, I get it. But he also got a candy cane, if that makes anything better. XD

I’m going to sleep now. (Or pull an all-nighter, who knows).
