Four-Word Summary Challenge

I was watching the Try Guys the other week and their video of celebrating their four-year anniversary by playing a game where they pick a slip of paper with titles of videos they made and try to explain it to their partners in four words in four seconds. I thought that would be fun to apply to books, so here we are.

Because I don’t make videos or write books, I’m using a list of books that I’ve read. I wrote down a whole bunch of (hopefully) well-known YA books and selected 15 of them to try and make a summary in four words (or less).

The two rules I have are:

  1. I’m not allowed to use any words in the book title
  2. I’m not allowed to use any character names.

If you want to play along, you can try and guess what book I’m talking about after reading my short summary and then click the drop down to reveal the title. For the most part, if a book is part of a series, I used the first book just so there would be less spoilers.

A-Z Book Titles | Down the Alphabet Part I

Last week was a doozy and now I’m exhausted. My mind is a bit fried, so I want to go easy on myself with the posts.

I went to a seminar this morning (at the time I’m writing this) talking about how I should plan for my future. All that talk about the future made me think about the past. Back when I was younger, my older sister and I would take walks around the neighborhood and play a game where we had to name a list of whatever chose (dog breed, countries, celebrities, etc.) that start with each letter in the alphabet. So, for example, if the topic is countries, then A could be Algeria and B could be Belgium and so on and so forth.

After thinking about this little game we made up as children, I wanted to challenge myself to think up of book-related topics that start with each letter of the alphabet. This part the topic will be book titles. I won’t guarantee that I’ll think of one for every letter, but I’m going to try my darn hardest to.

Kiss, Marry, Kill: Throne of Glass edition

I’m bored. Let’s play a game with the Throne of Glass characters.

What game will that be, you ask?

The only game I can think of at the moment: Kiss, Marry, Kill!

For those who don’t know what this game is, it’s basically where you choose three people (in my case, characters) each round to kiss, marry, and kill. Fairly simple. To amp up the stakes, I put names of Throne of Glass characters in a jar and drew three for each round. Whichever three I choose are the ones I have to use.
