Hocus Pocus Book Tag

I have a confession to make: I’ve never watched Hocus Pocus. Okay, so hear me out. Although I grew up in America, I did not grow up in the American culture. So, I’ve never watched timeless movies like Princess Bride and Hocus Pocus. (Okay, I have watched Princess Bride, but only recently). I grew up without a TV, and my family never went to the movie theatres because there weren’t any nearby, which is why I had to turn to books for entertainment.

I was tagged by the lovely Laura over at The Book Corps. Make sure to check out her blog and send her some love!

Series I’m Not Going to Finish

I don’t like leaving things unresolved. This includes series. I hate not finishing a series. Unless I don’t really give a crap about any part of the story, then to some degree, I want to know how the conflict in the story was resolved.

However, there are some series I won’t be finishing. The reason might be that I don’t care for the story, or that it’s not at the top of my TBR and will probably never get to it. I’m still open to finishing some of these series, but I’ll most likely not get to them.

This isn’t an exhaustive list of the series I’m not going to finish, but the main ones.

Musing Mondays (May 16)

musing1

This meme is hosted by MizB @ Books and a Beat. Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

– I’m currently reading…
Up next I think I’ll read…
– I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
– I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
– I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
– I can’t wait to get a copy of…
– I wish I could read ___, but…
– I blogged about ___ this past week…

Everyone and their mother have been reading A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I’ve been avoiding Goodreads because SPOILERS. Everyone has been raving about this book, and I need to get on this bandwagon before I drive myself mad.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: What do you think is the most overrated book?

I think The Maze Runner by James Dashner  is the such an overrated book. There are a whole bunch of kids at my school how have been raving about The Maze Runner ever since the movie was released.

I read the book just to see what the hype was about, but I didn’t enjoy it at all. The writing style was so childish. It felt as thought I was reading some middle schooler’s half-baked dystopian story.
