Nine YA Books with Cute Romances

I don’t know about you, but I’m currently on a To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before high right now. After watching the movie, Peter and Lara Jean are all I can think about.

(I probably won’t stop fangirling about them for a while. Just a warning. Speaking of fangirling about Noah and Lana, I read this Buzzfeed article about them and I honestly can’t handle how cute they are together. Just when you don’t think they could get any cuter they hit you with something like this.)

Anyway, I wanted to suggest some books for those who are looking for some cute book relationships after watching/reading To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Girl (or guy), I get it. I can’t handle the adorable-ness either.

Some of these book/series are mega popular and you’ve probably already read them, but I hope you find some gems in here that you haven’t tried out.

Operation Survive Space – The Team

For the past couple months I’ve been in a reading slump. One day, I decided to pick up  Obsidio (yes, I know I’m very late to the trend), and I have to tell you, it is GLORIOUS to be reading again. Not only am I happy with my reading selection, the story and characters are so great and I can’t even start describing how much I love this series.

For those of you who don’t know what Obsidio is, it’s the third and last book in The Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. The first book, Illuminae, follows this pair of teens trying to survive in space after their planet was attacked (this is a super simplified blurb… if you want to read more about on its Goodreads page). Each book introduces a new pair of main characters, for a total of six main protagonists and a handful of other prominent characters.

That being said, I was thinking about how I would do if I had to survive in space (conclusion: I’d be the first to die). Then that spurred me into the whole, “if you were stranded on an island, who would you choose to be stranded with” situation… although now that I think about it, I don’t think a person would have much choice as to who they would be stranded on an island with if they crashed there….

ANYWAY, I wanted to comprise a list of my team of six people (because there are two main characters from each book and there are three books) to maximize my chance to survive space before reaching a sanctuary of sorts. I followed the simple guidelines:

  1. The people must be fictional book characters.
  2. They don’t actually have to be human.
  3. They can’t be from The Illuminae Files series.
  4. No spoiling The Illuminae Files series.
  5. The ship you are on is crawling with creatures/people who would kill you if caught.
  6. Remember that you’re going to be stuck in space for months, if not years.

June 2018 TBR

Summer has officially started for me, and since I’m so behind on my reading schedule, I decided to make a little TBR to encourage myself to get backing into reading.

(me desperately trying to catch up to my ever-growing TBR)

Plus, I have so many books I need to catch up on that I need to force myself to start reading them or I will forever be behind.

YA Author Upcoming Release Compilation

If you’re anything like me, you are the last person to know about new releases and book news. I don’t have a lot of social media to keep up with the authors, and I don’t use the ones that I follow authors on that frequently. To be completely honest, it’s a lot to keep track of all the new releases and things that are going on so I decided to take some of my favorite and (I think) well-known YA authors and compile all their upcoming releases.

Some of the information I got off of posts on the authors’ social media or websites (which I’ll link in this post) and others I got off of Goodreads. I can’t guarantee that I will catch all the stories their working on but hopefully this will give you an overview of what to expect.

The authors I’m covering in this post are:

Cassandra Clare || Leigh Bardugo || Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff || Marie Lu
Sarah J. Maas || Tahereh Mafi|| Rainbow Rowell || Adam Silvera
Angie Thomas || Nicola Yoon

At the bottom of the post I put a timeline-ish thing that gives you an overall look on all the authors and what they’re releasing in case you don’t want to read through all the stuff I wrote.

Top 10 Books I Read in 2017

2017 is coming to an end… and thank goodness for that. It’s been a rough year, to say the least, but that didn’t stop me from reading some pretty freaking awesome books. I didn’t read as much as I wanted to this year, but that just means I’m going to try extra hard in 2018 to get to all the books I want to read.

Anticipated Releases: 2018

It’s 2018, and a new year means a whole new load of books to be excited for!

I’ve decided to compile a list of my most anticipated releases of 2018 because I normally don’t do monthly anticipated releases.

(All the synopses in this point are taken directly from Goodreads.)

(There are some spoilers as some of these books are part of a series. I put spoiler warnings before their synopses and provided a drop down so the summaries are hidden unless you click on the drop down.)

The Fall Book Tag

image

It’s already half way through November, which means fall is coming to an end.

(If you can’t tell, I really like the fall season.)

I’ve been pretty behind on blogging and reading in general, but when I saw that I was tagged to do the Fall Book Tag, I had to get onto it immediately… except I didn’t. These past couple weeks have been rough and I haven’t been able to get enough sleep, even on weekends. That’s why I’ve been struggling to keep up with everything. Also, I discovered the Webtoons app and have been obsessed with all the comics and stories on it ever since, putting me even more behind on work.

No excuses, though! I screwed my head on straight again and now I’m going to try and stop procrastinating to get my life back on track (and hopefully get a little bit more sleep).

I was tagged by the lovely Marta over at The Book Mermaid. Make sure to check out her blog and send her some love ❤

The Rules:

  • Please link back to Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! She wants to see your answers!!

2016 Fall Book Haul

image

I got a lot more books that I expected to this season. My TBR pile is a mile high and I’m in a reading slump. That hasn’t stopped me from getting more books, though. I honestly have no self-control when it comes to books.
