Throne of Glass Characters as Songs | Book Playlist

Okay, hear me out: I was listening to the radio when I heard this song that sort of reminded me of Lorcan. Weird, I know, but I couldn’t help but think that it perfectly summed up his character and attitude. I know authors sometimes make playlists for their readers to help them understand the vibe of the book they wrote. So those two elements combined are the inspiration for this post. I thought it would be cool to find a song that represents each main character in the Throne of Glass series. Some of these songs I think the lyrics reflect the character while others I just think the overall vibe of the song sums up the character nicely.

That being said, I might miss a couple characters here and there.

Also, I have the most basic music taste so I apologize if your music taste is more refined than mine. I’m an easy to please gal, alright?

Kiss, Marry, Kill: Throne of Glass edition

I’m bored. Let’s play a game with the Throne of Glass characters.

throneofglassseries

What game will that be, you ask?

The only game I can think of at the moment: Kiss, Marry, Kill!

For those who don’t know what this game is, it’s basically where you choose three people (in my case, characters) each round to kiss, marry, and kill. Fairly simple. To amp up the stakes, I put names of Throne of Glass characters in a jar and drew three for each round. Whichever three I choose are the ones I have to use.

Throne of Glass Dream Cast

It was announced a while back that the Throne of Glass series is going to be made into a TV show. Then a couple months ago they released the name of the show: Queen of Shadows. They haven’t made a cast of characters yet, but there are many TOG casts that fans made. I wanted to make my own.

Now keep in mind that I don’t know a lot of celebrities. I tend not to keep up with them because I’ve got better things to do (like read books). With my limited knowledge of actors and actresses, here is my fan cast for the upcoming Queen of Shadows TV show.

If you haven’t read up to Queen of Shadows, I highly suggest that you do not read past this point because there are some spoilers of new characters that appear.

Day 389: Throne of Glass TV Show is Happening!?!

GUYS IT’S HAPPENING! The Throne of Glass TV Show (which is apparently going to be named after the fourth book in the series, Queen of Shadows) is actually going to happen!

To be completely honest, when the news first got out that there was going to be a TV show adaptation of the TOG series (about a year ago), I was a bit skeptical. Sometimes a book’s movie/TV show adaptation doesn’t work out when it’s in creation and is never released. I thought that this would be the case for this (please don’t hate me).

But I was totally wrong! Kira Snyder (who also worked on The 100) will be writing the adaptation. It will be produced by the Mark Gordon Company, which also created shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds.

The queen behind this amazing series, Sarah J. Maas, tweeted about this on Twitter, and if you want to go to the article she tweeted out, click here.

I’m super excited that this series is becoming a TV show, but I’m also a bit scared. I love the series so much that I think that I’ll have too high of expectations when it’s released. Because of the different media, there are some things that producers cannot replicate on screen that happens in the stories. I hope that the storyline doesn’t stray too much from the original, but I’m not sure what to expect.

Musing Mondays (May 9)

musing1

This meme is hosted by MizB @ Books and a Beat. Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:

– I’m currently reading…
– Up next I think I’ll read…
– I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
– I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
– I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
– I can’t wait to get a copy of…
I wish I could read ___, but…
– I blogged about ___ this past week…

I wish I could read A Court of Mist and Fury, but school is coming to an end, and that means exams and projects. Which means I’ll have little to no time to read.

I’ll probably end up pulling an all nighters to read it.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: What is the best book you read LAST year?

I made a post last year with my top 15 books of 2015.

Of course, my #1 book that I read last year was Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. Those books get better as the series goes on. It’s crazy! I loved the introduction of the new characters and the plot. I’m not going to say anymore because I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. If you haven’t already started the Throne of Glass series, YOU NEED TO START IT RIGHT THIS INSTANT!

The Quote (Day #2):

Slowly, Aedion drew his blade and knelt, his head bowed as he lifted the Sword od Orynth. “Ten years of shadows, but no longer. Light up the darkness, Majesty.”

She did no have room in her heart for tears, would not allow or yield to them.

Aelin took her father’s sword from him, it’s weight a steady, solid reassurance.

Aedion rose, returning to his place beside Rowan.

She looked at them, at the three males who meant everything-more than everything.

Then she smiled with every last shred of courage, of desperation, of hope for the glimmer of that glorious future. “Let’s go rattle the stars.”

Day 64- Midterms This Week… At Least I Have My Books to Keep Me Company While I Cry

I have no clue who the heck made midterms a thing, but if I ever meet this dude, I need to slap some sense into him.

Also, I obviously think it’s super funny that all my teachers decided to cram their tests and quizzes the day before midterms starts.

I’m going to have a fantastic time this week.

Day 58- And Then a Wild Rowan Appears!

There might be some spoilers of Queen of Shadows in here… Proceed with caution.

So, I have decided to ditch my original plan of reading Queen of Shadows super slowly because I really want to get to some of the newly released books I got.

(Quick note: If you don’t know what Queen of Shadows is, it’s the fourth book of a young-adult urban(?) fantasy series called Throne of Glass. Now that you are more educated on this subject, start reading the series. Now. Yes. Right now. Do it. Just DO it! -Shia LaBeouf)

I starting reading QOS at my normal pace, stopping every once in a while to grab a snack or finish some homework.

And then he appears.

Finally!

IMG_4617

I have it. Queen of Shadows. By Sarah J. Maas. In my hand. I… I… I can’t. I’m sorry. I’m off to go read this now. Goodbye.

Haha I’m just messing with you. I actually got the book on my birthday. Apparently (after I posted my previous life update), my parents decided to surprise me and pretend that they weren’t able to get the book when in reality, they had it the whole time. So yeah. I told you my mom has a great sense of humor. Thanks Mom and Dad! ❤ You guys have very convincing acting skills. Or maybe I’m just gullible. Who knows.

Anywhoooooo…. I haven’t started the book yet, but I’m going to try and finish all my homework early so I can.

I think I’ve been fangirling too much lately about Throne of Glass… I’m sorry, reader. But it’s consuming my thoughts right now.

I’m so freaking excited I can’t even hide it!
