Valentine’s Day lovers and haters book recommendations

Romance and no romance book recommendations

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and people usually have one of two reactions. Either you get excited thinking about it or you just rolled your eyes at me. Either way, I have book recommendations for whether you’re a romantic at heart (like myself) or not.

Synopsis

An illustrated addition to the New York Times bestselling Folk of Air trilogy, that started with The Cruel Prince, from award-winning author Holly Black.

An irresistible return to the captivating world of Elfhame.

Once upon a time, there was a boy with a wicked tongue.

Before he was a cruel prince or a wicked king, he was a faerie child with a heart of stone. #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black reveals a deeper look into the dramatic life of Elfhame’s enigmatic high king, Cardan. This tale includes delicious details of life before The Cruel Prince, an adventure beyond The Queen of Nothing, and familiar moments from The Folk of the Air trilogy, told wholly from Cardan’s perspective.

This new installment in the Folk of the Air series is a return to the heart-racing romance, danger, humor, and drama that enchanted readers everywhere. Each chapter is paired with lavish and luminous full-color art, making this the perfect collector’s item to be enjoyed by both new audiences and old.

Top 20 Books of 2020

My Top Books of 2020

Happy New Year (and thank goodness 2020 is over)! We have a tradition on this blog to showcase the top 10 books that I read every year. However, this year I wanted to do something different. Since it was 2020, I wanted to list my top 20 books instead of my top 10. It just has a better ring to it. However, I haven’t read that many novels this year, so I decided to split it into my top 10 books and my top 10 graphic novels. I read a lot of comics (although I don’t review them that much), so it’s only fair that I include them on the list.

In no particular order, I present to you my top books of 2020.

The Folklore Book Tag

The Folklore Book Tag

Wow, I feel like I haven’t done a book tag in a while! I’m not a huge fan of Taylor Swift (I’m pretty indifferent about her music), but I can’t deny that her latest album has been really popular! I saw so many of my friends lose their minds on social media when it was first released.

Even though I don’t know much about her newest album, I still wanted to do this tag! Thank you to lovely Marta @ The Book Mermaid for tagging me!

Graphic Novel Recommendations | The Awkward Book Blogger

I don’t know about you, but I love graphic novels. They’re a quick way to read a story with beautiful artwork. The only way I’ve been able to keep up with my reading goals every year was because of graphic novels. That being said, I’d like to think that I’ve read a lot of graphic novels in my time, and I’m excited to finally share my recommendations!

For the most part, I read a lot of middle grade/young adult graphic novels with a sprinkling of books targeted towards adults. They’re mostly in the fantasy or contemporary fiction genre.

If you don’t have enough time to commit to a full novel or just want to spruce up your TBR, this is the right place for you!

Help! I need book recommendations….

Guys! I need your help! I’m in a weird spot right now where I want to read, but I don’t want to read any of the books in my TBR.

That’s where you guys come in.

I’m looking for a young adult book with romance in it but is not a contemporary novel. The romance doesn’t have to be the main focus of the story, but I’d like there to be some. If you know of any that you’ve enjoyed in the past, please let me know! The more options, the better!

Thanks in advanced!
