2021 Goals

New Year Resolutions

2020 was not it. I think we all get a free pass from our goals because last year was not anyone’s year. However, that is not going to stop me from making goals for this year. I like to make resolutions that I’ll promptly forget by the end of January, but it’s still fun to think of what I did well the year before and what I can improve.

2018 Bookish (and Non-Bookish) Goals

The new year brings new resolutions, and that means it’s time for me to make new goals for myself. I don’t really like calling them resolutions because the definition sounds restrictive.

Just for reference, the definition I read of “resolution” on the internet was this:

a firm decision to do or not to do something

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like an ultimatum to me. It’s like I have to decide whether or not I want to proceed with a certain habit and it will be a life or death decision. In reality, it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s still rather important. That’s why I’m going to refer to my “resolutions” as “goals” instead. It sounds more achievable and more forgiving.

My 2017 Blog Goals

I’ve made it my mission to set some goals for my blog every year. It’s kind of like that saying “there is always room for improvement”. I know my blog isn’t perfect, and I believe that there is always something that I can improve on it. Every year I set goals to (hopefully) make some improvements in hopes to make my blog better than it was the year before.

I have three goals for my blog next year.

1. Stop rambling!

I tend to ramble on my posts. I also tend to repeat a lot of the things I’ve already said before. I need to stop doing that.

2. Quality over quantity.

I try to post once every two days, and sometimes that goal reduces the quality of what I write. I need to focus more on what I’m writing rather than how much I’m writing. This might mean less frequent posting, however.

3. Keep the blog true to myself.

I started this blog because I wanted to talk about one my of biggest passions: books. I made this blog for myself, and so I want to keep it true to myself. I don’t want to act like someone else. This blog is me, therefore it should portray who I am, imperfections and all.

Happy New Year! Hopefully 2017 will be better than 2016.

2016 Resolutions Book Tag

image

This tag was created by Trisha Ann @ The Bookgasm and I was tagged by the lovely Windie @ Geek Apprentice. Thank you so much for tagging me!

The New Year is about making ambitious goals and challenges and trying to keep up with them until the end of the year. Which, unless you’re really motivated, you’ll probably quit by the end of January.

I said in a previous post that I don’t make New Years Resolutions, but I’ll make this an exception.
