Auto-Buy Authors

I like books. I like owning physical books, but because my wallet hates me when I splurge on books, I try to be very selective of which books I buy. But when certain authors release a new book, I’m like:

I have no self-control. I hope I’m not the only one who does this.

Fall Activities Book Tag

image

It’s finally starting to feel like fall where I live. After having a good six months of 90+ ˚F (32+ ˚C) weather, I’m about ready to bust out my sweaters and finally go outside without sweating buckets.

I was tagged by Heather over at The Sassy Book Geek. Thanks so much for tagging me! Don’t forget to check out her blog. She writes really thoughtful and honest reviews.

My Ultimate OTPs

One of the things I love the most about reading is fangirling over OTPs. If you’re not familiar with fangirl lingo, OTP stands for One True Pairing. You believe that this couple was born for each other. You might go as far as saying that the fate of humanity lies on whether or not they stays together in the end of the story. Regardless, you believe that this couple is meant for each other.

I have a few OTPs. Actually, scratch that. I have a lot of OTPs. However, I only have a couple of couples (cringe-worthy pun intended) that I’m hardcore about defending and think about almost every single day.

Just a fair warning: there’s a lot of fangirling ahead so be prepared.

Top 5 Wednesday: Characters I’m Most Like

image

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes and created by Lainey @ Ginger Reads Lainey. You can check out the group’s Goodreads page to join and check out the topics of the month.

This Week’s Topic: Characters I’m Most Like

I am supposed to choose characters that I am like, not who I want to be like. Because most of the books I read have characters that are badass and fearless (very UNlike me), I decided to take things that I descibe myself with and try and match them with different characters. This is going to be interesting.

May These Anticipated May Releases Be Out Already!?!

Two of my most anticipated releases of 2016 are coming out this month! Why can’t I have them in my hands right now? Oh yeah. That’s right. I still have a really big TBR pile that I need to decrease. Right. Whoops. Whatever. I’m still excited for these books.

April Wrap-Up

I can’t believe April is already over! It seemed as though it was just yesterday when March was ending. Seriously. How come this month went by so fast? At least that means I’m closer to finishing school for the year. XD

I think I had a pretty decent blogging month (which says something for someone who procrastinates on everything). I posted a lot more than I expected, and read more books than I thought I had time for.

Day 56- What Do We Have Here?

I opened up a pack of fruit snacks and this is literally what was inside:

Just bananas and one peach. Yay.

ANYWAY…

I’ve got to admit that I have a problem when it comes to being in a bookstore. Honestly, someone has to hold me back from buying everything I see. Especially with all these fantasmical (fantastic + magical) books that have been released recently, I want to seriously buy ALL DA BOOKS.

But I refrained myself when I entered Barnes and Noble today. I have no idea how I did it, but I only got the book I was looking for.

And one more.

Because let’s be honest, when you’re at a bookstore, you can’t just buy ONE book when there are thousands surrounding you, calling your name.

The struggle is seriously real.

Anywhooooo….

Yup. That’s right. Yes, I finally got this and now I’m going to drop everything and read it.

I might even finish this book today. Actually, who am I kidding? I would probably  finish this in a couple hours if it weren’t for all the homework my teachers decided to give me.

The other book, you ask?

Carry On Rainbow Rowell

I couldn’t resist. How could I? It was the second to last one left! I couldn’t say no, and that’s a problem…

I’m planning on reading these books really soon, but I’m not sure HOW soon. I have twice as many days off of school this week, but my teachers decided to give twice as much homework to compensate.

^^ me when my math teacher promised no homework but then assigned a 24-page packet over the long weekend

Gee thanks let’s not consider the fact that half the students in the whole entire school is sick, and that we need sometime to heal.  Yeah, of course students don’t need sleep. No, no it’s okay, you guys can destroy all our social lives. We didn’t want them anyway. We’re just lean, mean learning machines and school is the center of our world.

NO.

We have lives. Actually let me rephrase: We try to have lives and you’re making it extremely difficult.

Okay, I need to seriously calm down *takes deep breath*

All I’m trying to say is that I’m going to try and get some good reading done before I have to start school again. *shudder*

But for now, I have to do this buttload of homework that has been calling my name. Yay. Much fun. So excite.

Day 51- The Sudden Realization…

…when I remembered that the first book of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard is coming out tomorrow and I forgot to preorder it.

Oh brother.

What am I to do? At this point, I think it’s kind of late. Oh well.

Not only is Rick Riordan’s new series coming out tomorrow, but so are a whole bunch of other books that I have forgotten to preorder.

Like Carry On by Rainbow Rowell…

…and The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness.

And don’t forget about this beauty.

I’m not on top of things right now. So much to read, not enough time!!

Also, update on my reading! If you haven’t noticed (which it’s okay if you haven’t), I have been reading the same books for quite some time now. The reason is that all I want to read right now is Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas, but I’m not allowing myself to read it too quickly. I’m trying to span out the story so the wait for the next book in the series won’t seem as long.

Which is why I don’t already have a review over this wonderful, beautiful book.

I haven’t touched the book in over two weeks because I know that if I do, I won’t stop reading it.

But when I do finish it, expect a weird review full of gibberish and fangirling.

As for the other books I’m reading… yeah. I can’t bring myself to read them at the moment. Don’t ask why. I might be in a reading slump, but I’m not 117% sure.
