The Lunar Chronicles Dream Cast

Image result for the lunar chronicles

I’ve created a dream cast one time before a couple years ago (check out my Throne of Glass Dream Cast here), and I had a fun time discovering new actors and actresses as I scoured the internet to find the perfect person to fill the role of each character. I thought it was due time that I try and make another dream cast, but this time for a different beloved series: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.

I don’t know a lot of actors or actresses, meaning I don’t know much about their acting skills and styles (because I don’t watch a lot of TV shows or movies). Because of that, I chose these people you’re about to see solely based on their looks. I know that’s not how actors are chosen, but I’m so clueless when it comes to celebrities. Just keep that in mind.

Do I Have That Book Challenge

I was just scrolling through my YouTube feed to find a video so I had an excuse to procrastinate, when I came across this book challenge. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve watched a BookTube video, so I was intrigued. After watching Keeping Tabs (the creator) take a stab at her own challenge, I wanted to give it a shot!

Click here for the original creator of this challenge!

Granted, I recently got rid of 60+ books from my shelf so this might be a bit more difficult.

Oh well.

The general rules I got from her instructions were this:

1. Time yourself trying to find each prompt on your shelf
2. Try and beat the time of the person who challenged you.
3. Don’t forget to tag your challenger and the original creator.
4. Have fun!

I decided that rather than time myself and cause my stress levels to go off the charts, I would just try and find each prompt on my shelf. Each prompt that I find a book for will count as a point. The max amount of points is 20 (since there’s 20 prompts). Plus, me just telling the time it took me to find all these books would not be that exciting.

It occurs to me now that this challenge is probably more enjoyable in video form, but alas, I am not a BookTuber. I apologize in advanced.

Spider-Verse Characters as Book Characters

Sooooooo recently I finally got around to watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in theaters, and it was fan-fricking-tastic! The artistry, the animation, the subtle themes, and the SOUNDTRACK. Oh my goodness, it was a medley of awesomeness and hype all wrapped up in a nice package in the form of a two hour movie masterpiece.

I mean, LOOK AT THIS AMAZINGNESS!

Ahem….

If you can’t tell, I loved the movie.

Every since I watched it a couple days ago, I can’t seem to get it out of my head. I was having a hard time brainstorming some ideas of what to post on this blog, when I realized that I could just take what was occupying my mind and turn in into a post. There’s this whole thing that was going around the internet where artists would create their own Spider-sona (like persona, but as a spider-hero), and that inspired me to think of which book character each spider-hero reminded me of the most. I going to limit this list to just the spider-heroes because they were my favorite.  Continue reading

Kiss, Marry, Kill – The Lunar Chronicles Edition

Image result for the lunar chronicles series

I was bored so I thought I could play a little fun game called Kiss, Marry, Kill with the characters from The Lunar Chronicles.

If you don’t know what the game is, it’s basically where I take a set of people (in my case, characters), put their names in a cup, and draw three names. Then I have to decide who to kiss, marry, and kill. It’s that simple.

Just a warning, if you have not read the full series and don’t want to be spoiled, I highly suggest you finish reading the series (because it’s amazing) before reading this post. I include characters that are introduced later in the series and I don’t want to spoil any surprises for anyone who hasn’t experienced the awesome world that is the Lunar Chronicles.

Nine YA Books with Cute Romances

I don’t know about you, but I’m currently on a To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before high right now. After watching the movie, Peter and Lara Jean are all I can think about.

(I probably won’t stop fangirling about them for a while. Just a warning. Speaking of fangirling about Noah and Lana, I read this Buzzfeed article about them and I honestly can’t handle how cute they are together. Just when you don’t think they could get any cuter they hit you with something like this.)

Anyway, I wanted to suggest some books for those who are looking for some cute book relationships after watching/reading To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Girl (or guy), I get it. I can’t handle the adorable-ness either.

Some of these book/series are mega popular and you’ve probably already read them, but I hope you find some gems in here that you haven’t tried out.

Operation Survive Space – The Team

For the past couple months I’ve been in a reading slump. One day, I decided to pick up  Obsidio (yes, I know I’m very late to the trend), and I have to tell you, it is GLORIOUS to be reading again. Not only am I happy with my reading selection, the story and characters are so great and I can’t even start describing how much I love this series.

Image result for illuminae series

For those of you who don’t know what Obsidio is, it’s the third and last book in The Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. The first book, Illuminae, follows this pair of teens trying to survive in space after their planet was attacked (this is a super simplified blurb… if you want to read more about on its Goodreads page). Each book introduces a new pair of main characters, for a total of six main protagonists and a handful of other prominent characters.

That being said, I was thinking about how I would do if I had to survive in space (conclusion: I’d be the first to die). Then that spurred me into the whole, “if you were stranded on an island, who would you choose to be stranded with” situation… although now that I think about it, I don’t think a person would have much choice as to who they would be stranded on an island with if they crashed there….

ANYWAY, I wanted to comprise a list of my team of six people (because there are two main characters from each book and there are three books) to maximize my chance to survive space before reaching a sanctuary of sorts. I followed the simple guidelines:

  1. The people must be fictional book characters.
  2. They don’t actually have to be human.
  3. They can’t be from The Illuminae Files series.
  4. No spoiling The Illuminae Files series.
  5. The ship you are on is crawling with creatures/people who would kill you if caught.
  6. Remember that you’re going to be stuck in space for months, if not years.

You’re Not Good Enough Book Tag

image

Well, this tag sounds cheery! When I first saw the title, I was super confused as to what it was about, so here’s a little description to clear things up:

You pick 30 fictional characters and write their names down on pieces of paper. You then pluck two names at a time out to answer a question – so there are 15 questions. The aim of the game is to pick the character that fits the criteria the best and by doing so find the character that is not “good enough” for the answer.

I was tagged by the lovely Orangutan Librarian. Make sure to check out her blog and give her some love! ❤

Characters IRL: Jobs – The Lunar Chronicles

Whenever I daydream, I always think about what it would be like if fictional characters from books were to live in the world we live in today. That got me thinking, what would their hobbies be? Where would they live? What jobs would they hold?

And then I thought, I should make that into a blog post! So here I am…

Image result for awkward hi gif

I was going to do this post for Throne of Glass characters (go figure) but decided against it because I’ve made so many posts about them already (or so I tell myself. To be truthful, I’m not doing TOG characters because I couldn’t think of any occupation for them except soldier, or hitman, or something along those lines). Instead, I’m doing characters from The Lunar Chronicles because each of them have their strengths and weaknesses that make their group as awesome as it is.
