Top 20 Books of 2020

My Top Books of 2020

Happy New Year (and thank goodness 2020 is over)! We have a tradition on this blog to showcase the top 10 books that I read every year. However, this year I wanted to do something different. Since it was 2020, I wanted to list my top 20 books instead of my top 10. It just has a better ring to it. However, I haven’t read that many novels this year, so I decided to split it into my top 10 books and my top 10 graphic novels. I read a lot of comics (although I don’t review them that much), so it’s only fair that I include them on the list.

In no particular order, I present to you my top books of 2020.

Top 10 Books of 2019 | The Awkward Book Blogger

Happy New Year’s Eve! I can’t believe the decade is almost over! It’s insane to think that 2019 is coming to an end. To me, it felt like time flew by so quickly.

I was able to reach my reading goal, which was to read more than I did the year before. I read 31 books in 2018, so my goal was to read at least 32 books. According to Goodreads, I passed that goal. I read a little under 60 books this year. I guess for 2020 my goal is going to stay the same. I just want to read more than I read in 2019. We’ll see how that goes.

It was hard to pick just 10 books as my top books for 2019 because this year was a good reading year. There were so many great stories that came out and so many great stories I couldn’t get to read in the years before but was able to this year.

Top Five Books Set in University

[Before I get going with this, I just wanted to announce that the winner of my very small giveaway has been chosen and announced on my giveaway post.]

Hello! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been here. I’ve been super busy struggling with chemistry and microeconomics that I haven’t had the time to sit down and write a post. Or read. Or do anything except sleep, eat, and study.

Despite the fact that I have three midterms coming up pretty soon, I’m going to take a break from studying and talk about books set in uni. I thought it would be fitting since that’s all I feel like I’m doing right now.

Top 10 Books of 2016

Is it just me or did this year go by really quickly? I didn’t get much reading in compared to last year, but it still was a good reading year. I read a lot of books that I enjoyed and found some new favorites. I can’t say that I adventured far away from the fantasy genre, however. I still need to work on expanding my horizons. Only two out of the top ten books of 2016 are not fantasy/sci-fi. I read a bit more than just two non-fantasy novels this year, but my list clearly shows that I read mainly fantasy. Who’s surprised? No one? Yeah, me neither.

Hopefully I’ll find more books to read next year that aren’t fantasy, but old habits die hard.
