Stranger Things Book Tag

created by- arunning-commentary.blogspot.com.png

I wasn’t tagged by anyone, but I wanted to write something in the spirit of the 4th of July (a.k.a. America’s Independence Day). I asked myself, what’s going to happen on this day? Probably cook outs, hanging out with family and friends, fireworks, and STRANGER THINGS SEASON 3, BABYYYYYYYY!

Let me tell you, I have been waiting for this season to come out for too long. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT and now I can finally do it! My family doesn’t really celebrate the 4th of July other than going to watch the fireworks in the evening, so you bet your bottom dollar that I’m going to be spending the whole day binging the whole season.

Anyhow, in the spirit of 4th of July and the next season of Stranger Things coming out, I’m doing the Stranger Things book tag.

I got the graphics for this tag from Flavia the Bibliophile. (The creator of this tag is Nisha @ A Running Commentary but all the links I clicked send me to this page saying it doesn’t exist. I think she either deleted her blog or changed the name….)

Day 389: Throne of Glass TV Show is Happening!?!

GUYS IT’S HAPPENING! The Throne of Glass TV Show (which is apparently going to be named after the fourth book in the series, Queen of Shadows) is actually going to happen!

To be completely honest, when the news first got out that there was going to be a TV show adaptation of the TOG series (about a year ago), I was a bit skeptical. Sometimes a book’s movie/TV show adaptation doesn’t work out when it’s in creation and is never released. I thought that this would be the case for this (please don’t hate me).

But I was totally wrong! Kira Snyder (who also worked on The 100) will be writing the adaptation. It will be produced by the Mark Gordon Company, which also created shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds.

The queen behind this amazing series, Sarah J. Maas, tweeted about this on Twitter, and if you want to go to the article she tweeted out, click here.

I’m super excited that this series is becoming a TV show, but I’m also a bit scared. I love the series so much that I think that I’ll have too high of expectations when it’s released. Because of the different media, there are some things that producers cannot replicate on screen that happens in the stories. I hope that the storyline doesn’t stray too much from the original, but I’m not sure what to expect.

Day 34- Nachos and Other Things

Have you ever just craved a certain food for a very long time? Well, I’ve been craving nachos for over three months now… I’ve only had it once before, but I absolutely loved it, and now I want it again.

Anyway, it’s FRIDAY! I know this post is going up a little later than usual, but I took an AP test during the last portion of my school day today on four hours of sleep, so I took a little nap after I arrived home.

If you don’t know what an AP test is, it’s basically a test you take in an AP class. AP stands for Advanced Placement, and it’s a college course class that you can take during high school. Now, because the class is college-level, so are the tests. And this one was my first one.

So yeah.

I’m super tired from studying late last night and into the early morning.

If I pass the test, it’s going to be a freaking miracle.

Anywhooooooooooo, did you here? THRONE OF GLASS MIGHT BE TURNED INTO A TV SHOW!

^^ me when I saw her announcement on her newsletter (which if you haven’t signed up for it, you definitely should)

If they do happen to make the series into a TV show, I’m going to be the first one to set down all my homework to watch it.

If you want to read more about it, here is the website that was on Sarah J. Maas’s newletter.

Her last name is pronouced like “mass” instead of “moss”, which I learned a couple days ago. I’ve been pronouncing her last name wrong this whole time… >.<

Now, I’m going off to get more sleep… good night!

BBC Sherlock

Ok, so I know this isn’t my normal life update or book-ish post, but if you can’t tell already with my logo and all, I really, really, REALLY, like the TV show BBC Sherlock.

If you haven’t watched the show yet, do it now. It’s totally worth your time.

All I can think about right now is Sherlock.

I haven’t watched the last episode of the third season yet, because I’m scared of how it’s going to end until the next season comes out. Plus, I just don’t have the time to.

It’s kind of like for Queen of Shadows. I want to slow down with the episodes so the wait for the next season won’t seem as long.

When I saw on the internet that the next season (season 4) was going to be premiered in 2017, this was my reaction:

Anyway, I believe The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I’ll admit that I watched the TV show before reading the story, but I believe the BBC version of Sherlock has a modern twist to the original story.

If you don’t know who Sherlock Holmes is, he’s an unnaturally good detective that thinks differently (just a little) than how normal people would think. His side kick, Dr. Watson, well… he’s his sidekick. Again, I’m not quite sure how the original story goes.

In the BBC version of Sherlock, both the detective and sidekick live in London. In the beginning of the first season, Sherlock is looking for a flat mate while John Watson just came back from war and was looking for a place to stay. A mutual friend (whom you’ll only see for a little while) acquainted them, and Sherlock offered John a spot in his flat. From there, well, you’re just going to have to watch to find out their adventures.

It’s pretty freaking fantastic. I don’t know what about it makes it so special and entertaining to watch, but I love it so much.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from the show:
