Spring and Summer 2016 Book Haul

image

The other day, I thought to myself, I haven’t done a book haul in a very long time. So I looked back my posts and noticed that I never did a spring book haul. I was still on a book buying ban at that time so I only bought two books during that season. Because I didn’t want to make a separate post, I just decided to combine my spring and summer book haul.

Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices, #1) by Cassandra Clare

I got this book when it first came out. Thankfully at the time, my classes weren’t too hectic, so I was able to read it with the rest of the crowd. You can read my thoughts here.

My self-control was super impressive. I didn’t buy any books this month. Part of the reason I didn’t get any was because there was so much going on in my life that I didn’t have time to think of books.

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas

I had to get this book. Come on. It’s Sarah J. Maas. You can’t not get this book. Sadly, it took me almost a month to read this because the release coincided with the time of the year where all the teachers decided to give their last tests and projects before the finals. You can read my thoughts about it here.

The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1) by Rick Riordan

A Rick Riordan book with Percy in it? Yes please! I haven’t been able to get to this yet, but hopefully I’ll find time to soon.

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare

I got this as a prize from my local library’s summer reading program. I’ve already read this a long time ago, and loved it. I’m neither Will + Tessa nor Jem + Tessa because I love them all equally.

A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage

This was one of my summer reading assignments. Being the nerd that I am, I was excited to read it. However, the book is so bland and it felt like I was forcing cardboard down my dry throat.

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes

I’m not ready for the heartbreak everyone has been going through after reading this book.

Once again, I surprising had enough self control not to buy any books this month.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Harry Potter, #8) by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne

I had to get this. It’s Harry Potter. (review)

The Lovely Reckless by Kami Garcia (ARC)

I’m not sure if I requested this or if the publisher just sent it to me, but thank you to Imprint / Macmillan CHildren’s Publishing Group for sending me a copy. You can read all my thoughts about this book here.

Until next time….

Wow, it seems you were really disciplined with your book buying this year! Good job 😀 I can’t say the same for myself… 😛

I’m the same for Me Before You! I know others have said it is an amazing and incredibly emotional book and I really want to read it but I don’t want to be a mess after I finish reading it. I don’t know how to explain it, but I am kind of intimidated by the amount of hype that this book has around it. Great post!

Same here! I heard so many great things about it but I’m not ready for the emotional mess it’s going to leave me in.

Nice! You don’t know how many book hauls I see where people buy A TON of books! I think it’s great that you get a book a month. I use the library, and I end up falling behind when I get more than a couple!

I’m trying to lower the amount of books that I own but haven’t read, but can’t help myself but indulge a little once in a while by buying books.

The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1) is AMAZING. I hope you love it as much as I did!
