July + August Wrap-Up | The Awkward Book Blogger

img_0036

I don’t know about you, but July FLEW by. It feels like it was two weeks too short. The end of the month snuck up on me so fast that I didn’t even remember to write a wrap up post! Frankly, I almost forgot to write a wrap-up post for August too. Thank goodness the end of August ends around a weekend because I wouldn’t have the time to write this otherwise.

So, how did the last two months go, you may ask? Well, let’s see…

This is a relatively new section, but I wanted a place to shout out some people who gave me some extra love recently! I know it’s a thing people do on Instagram, but there wasn’t an easy way to do it in blogs so I decided to dedicate a section of my monthly wrap up for this! Thank you to everyone who has given this blog some love, and a special thank you to Marta (who started a BookTube channel, go check her out!) and Ashmita for the extra love!

Life Update

Thank goodness I’ve had a couple posts scheduled this month, because I honestly don’t think I would have been able to keep up with my weekly post schedule otherwise. I’ve been getting pretty bad headaches/migraines recently (the most recent one lasted over two days), and so a good chunk of my time was spent in bed trying to recoup.

Classes have started, and I am… struggling. There has been a little fiasco that happened that I’m trying to get to the bottom of (which is short of impossible right now but whatever). On a brighter note, I’m taking classes completely online this semester, and all my professors are amazing! They are extremely understanding of everyone’s situation because of Miss ‘Rona, and it was a refreshing reminder that empathy still exists in this world.

I hope everyone is doing okay all things considered, and please stay safe and healthy wherever you are! Here’s a gentle reminder to forgive others, and more importantly, forgive yourself. ❤

Stay awkward and awesome!

Your July was amazing! 🙂 so many great book. I had no idea that The Immortal Instruments had a graphic novel :O
Also, good luck with your classes, usually the first weeks can be extremely stressful to get back to the routine but once you get the hang of it is fun 🙂

Yes! The Immortal Instruments has a graphic novel series! It’s not as good as the original, but I really like the illustrator’s work (Cassandra Jean), so I thought I’d give it a read!

Thanks for the luck! I’m going to need it… When one of my professors started talking about things at the quantum scale, I kind of freaked out XD

They truly are the worst! I haven’t had one so far this month, which is good! I think decreasing my screen time helped a lot… We’ll see how the rest of this month goes. Thanks for the well wishes! ❤

August went by so fast, it’s incredibly crazy!! I enjoyed it a lot, and I’m still gonna enjoy September because my classes are not gonna start right now, but it’s one less month before the semester starts ))): Thank you so SO much for the shoutout, Jessica!! You’re the sweetest! I usually try to catch up with blog posts once a week but it can easily pile up, so I’m sorry if I sometimes scare you with the notifications XD I’m sorry to hear school has been draining you!! Thankfully you are all staying safe! And I hope you can enjoy what you’re study ❤ What are you thinking of Spin the Dawn so far?? I enjoyed it a lot!!! 😀 Have a great September! ^^

I envy you that your classes haven’t started yet! Mine are kicking me in the butt right now >.<

I hope your BookTube journey is going well so far! I saw that you posted another video, and I'm going to have to watch it this weekend when I'm not drowning in assignments XD

Spin the Dawn is really good so far! It's everything I love in a story. It's a retelling (of Mulan) with magic, romance, and an impossible quest. What more can a gal ask for?

I hope you enjoy your September, and thanks for dropping by! ❤
