The Sims Book Tag

image

I was tagged by the lovely Heather over at The Sassy Book Geek. Make sure to check out her blog because she’s an awesome person! This tag was created by the BookTuber Hailey in Bookland.

I’ve never played the Sims before (I know, it’s a sin), but I’ve always wanted to. I like to watch Dan and Phil on YouTube play Sims because it’s hilarious. I had fun doing this tag nonetheless.

The Grim Reaper – saddest character death

SPOILERS FROM THE SIX OF CROWS DUOLOGY!!!!

Image result for crooked kingdomI’m only including fictional deaths in books that I’ve recently read. That’s why I’m not talking about Harry Potter or the Mistborn trilogy. I was super upset when Matthias died at the very end of Crooked Kingdom. I distinctly remember reading one of the characters saying that they were all supposed to survive, and that was the exact same thing I was thinking when I realized he died. They were all supposed to live. Sure, they would get hurt to some degree, but none of them were supposed to die. Dang you, Leigh Bardugo. My heart is out to Nina and Matthias.

END OF SPOILER

Sims Getting Stuck – a character that just got in the way

17927395Um. Tamlin. I loved you and all in the first book, but you need to stop now. No one thinks what you’re doing is cute. Just stop. Okay? What you did in A Court of Mist and Fury was not acceptable.

Seriously though. I liked Tamlin in the first book. He was really good for Feyre. Now, I question whether or not he’s sane. I can’t wait for the next book, A Court of Wings and Ruin, to see exactly what Feyre and Rhysand does next. I can’t deal with the cliffhanger ending the second book left me on. I need the next book now!

Simlish – a book with amazing writing

Image result for illuminaeIlluminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff has amazing writing. They’re both great authors, and their writing combined is a force to be reckoned with. Seriously. This book is amazing. Read it.

Not only is the writing fantastic, but the writing format is also really unique and fun to read. It enhances the reading experience. Frankly, I can’t think of a better way to tell this story. The way that they used files, instant messaging, and reports to tell the story was really fun to follow.

Expansion Packs – a series where the books keep on getting better

Sim Romance – the worse case of insta-love

All of them. I don’t know any case of insta-love that’s good. Most of the time I think the character confuses love with lust, and that never ends up well.

Cheats – a book that was entirely unrealistic

image

All fantasy books. To be honest, they’re meant to be unrealistic. One of the most unrealistic series I’ve read is the Lux series. I love you guys, Katy + Daemon, but there’s no way in the world of fluffy unicorns that you survived all that crap without much damage. Yes, they did get hurt, but despite what they’ve gone through, neither of them died. Like, come on. Whatever luck you have, I want it.

Needs Fulfillment – a character who made all the wrong decisions

I can’t think of a character that I thought they made ALL the wrong decisions. I mean, sure. There are some characters that screwed up every once in a while, but that’s normal. They’re human. They make mistakes. However, I haven’t read about someone who constantly made bad choices.

Error Code 12 – a series that started off great but went downhill from there

Related imageThe Tiger’s Saga started off great. I fell in love with all the characters in the first book. However, after that, the series went downhill. I only read the whole series because I was secretly hoping it would get better. It didn’t. I had such high hopes because of the first book, but then the series just crashed and burned. One thing that really bothered me is how inaccurate the facts and stories were in this series. I asked one of my friends who’s Hindu about certain things in this series and she told me that they’re completely wrong. I’m not sure if it’s lack of research or maybe a different interpretation on the author’s part, but I found it to be a bit disrespectful to the religion and those who follow it.

The Sims Vortex – a book/series that completely engrossed you

Image result for the mortal instruments books

The Mortal Instruments series really pulled me into the Shadowhunter world. If I hadn’t read that series, I wouldn’t have read The Infernal Devices trilogy or The Dark Artifices series. It sucked me into the story and world and I haven’t been able to get out since (not that I want to).

OMG YES !!! Thank you SO MUCH for tagging me, I’ve been waiting for someone too. I love The Sims, and I watch Dan and Phil’s series of it too, it’s hilarious. If you don’t want to buy the actual game there’s Sims Freeplay on the App Store and it’s super fun too, it’s what I play the most.

Thanks for the tag! There are so many creative and amazing tags out here in the blogosphere!
In ACOTAR, even I had thought that Feyre and Tamlin would inevitably end up together, but I never really shipped them. I’m glad that it did not turn out to be so.

I agree with you on TMI, it was the series that pulled me in the shadow Hunter world. Though the plot twist at the end of the first book was a little too dramatic, I still enjoyed reading the rest of the books.
    Great answers! Thanks again! 🙂

You’re welcome 😊 I’ve got to admit, I’m glad that Feyre isn’t going to end up with Tamlin. Unless he is… with Sarah J. Maas you never know…. 😳

I love The Sims, I have played that game for such a long time! So I can only recommend you trying the game as well. I love watching Dan and Phil play it as well, it’s always so much fun! 🙂
I was also sooo sad by the character death in Crooked Kingdom! I honestly couldn’t believe it happened.
